17. SYSTEM SETTINGS
In the charger's system settings, various basic settings are pooled together. These come pre-defined with the most
common values.
Depending on the batteries to be charged or discharged, however, particular changes to the values are useful.
Proceed as follows:
• Use the "INC" or DEC" buttons to select the function "SYSTEM SET ->".
• Confirm your selection by pressing the "ENTER/START" button.
The pause time between a charge/discharge process (e.g. during cycle
mode) is displayed first; see picture on the right.
With the "INC" or "DEC" buttons, you can select the desired setting function.
If you would like to modify a setting, press the "ENTER/START" button briefly. The value to be configured
starts flashing.
Change the flashing value with the "INC" or "DEC" buttons. Press and hold the respective button a little
longer for fast adjustment.
Complete your configuration by briefly by pressing the "ENTER/START" button. The value to be configured
stops flashing. You can now choose another setting feature; see above.
Press the "BATT/PROG/STOP" button to return to the main menu.
Note the following information with explanation of possible setting features.
Pause time between charging/discharging processes
Rest Time
CHG>DCHG
10Min
A battery gets warm when being charged (subject to the charge current). In cycle mode, the charger can pause
between charging and discharging, allowing the battery to cool down before the discharge begins.
Safety timer
SAFETY TIMER
ON
120Min
The internal safety timer will start once the charging process begins. If for any reason the charger cannot determine
whether the battery is fully charged (e.g. Delta-V detection) and the safety timer is activated, the charging process is
automatically terminated after the time set here expires. This protects the battery from being overcharged.
The safety timer can be turned on ("ON") or off ("OFF") and the safety timer's time can also be altered.
Do not set the time too short, however, because when the safety timer stops the charging process, the
battery may not be fully charged.
