d) Recharging the battery again ("RE-PEAK")
The charger ends charging automatically when the battery of a NiMH and NiCd battery is fully charged. Detection of
a fully charged battery is made in accordance with the Delta-V method.
By means of the battery program "RE-PEAK", this detection can be performed again. Not only can you thus ensure
that the battery is really fully charged, but you can also check how well the battery tolerates a fast charge.
So first charge the battery fully (see Chapter 12. b) or Chapter 12. c). Only then start the battery program
"RE-PEAK".
Proceed as follows:
• As described in Chapter 12. a), set the battery type (NiMH or NiCd) and
select the battery program "RE-PEAK".
The value at the bottom right indicates the number of detection events.
Use the "INC" or "DEC" buttons to select a different battery program; return to the main menu with the button
"BATT/PROG/STOP".
• If you need to change the number of detection events for the Delta-V method, press the "ENTER/START" button
briefly. The number will start flashing.
• You can set the number of detection events with the "INC" or "DEC" buttons.
• Press the "ENTER/START" button briefly to confirm your setting. The indicator stops flashing.
• Start the battery program "RE-PEAK" by holding down the button "ENTER/START" for about 3 seconds.
The charger will beep if the settings are wrong or an error is detected and the corresponding information is
displayed on the screen. End the warning signal with the "BATT/PROG/STOP" button, and the charger will go
back to the previous setup menu.
During the charging process, the following data may be displayed on the screen:
The battery type ("NiMH" = NiMH battery) is shown at the top left, the
charging current top centre and the current battery voltage top right.
Bottom left has the current battery program ("RPC" = "RE-PEAK"); the
elapsed charging time is in the middle and to the right the charged capacity
in mAh.
• An audible signal sounds (if this feature has not been turned off) when charging is complete.
Press the "BATT/PROG/STOP" button if you wish to abort charging.
