• If you need to change the value of the charging current, press the button "ENTER/START". The charging current
flashes. Change the charging current with the "INC" and "DEC" buttons. Press and hold the respective button a
little longer for fast adjustment.
Confirm the set charging current by pressing the "ENTER/START" button.
The maximum charging current depends on battery type and the number of cells. The maximum charging
capacity is 1000 W.
• Press and hold the "ENTER/START" button (about 3 seconds) to start the charging process.
The charger will beep if the settings are wrong or a malfunction is detected and the corresponding informati-
on is displayed on the screen. End the warning signal with the "BATT/PROG/STOP" button, and the charger
will go back to the previous setup menu.
During the charging process, the following data may be displayed on the screen:
The battery type ("NiMH" = NiMH battery) is shown at the top left, the
charging current top centre and the current battery voltage top right.
Bottom left has the current battery program ("CHG" = "CHARGE"); the
elapsed charging time is in the middle and to the right the charged capacity
in mAh.
• An audible signal sounds (if this feature has not been turned off) when charging is complete.
Press the "BATT/PROG/STOP" button if you wish to abort charging.
c) Automatic charging mode ("Auto CHARGE")
When in automatic mode, the charger will check the condition of the battery (e.g. the internal resistance) and will
then calculate the charging current. You have to set an upper limit for the charging current so that the battery will not
be damaged by a charging current that is too high.
Shorter charging times may be achieved with the battery program "Auto CHARGE" compared to the battery program
"CHARGE" (Chapter 12. b) in some cases, depending on the battery and its internal resistance.
For setting and operation, proceed as described for the battery program "CHARGE" (Chapter 12. b).
The only difference here is that you set a maximum charging current limit that the charger should not exceed
and not the actual charge current.
