7. Faults
7.1. Upon installation
PROBLEM
• When placing the columns onto the mounting feet, the holes in the
columns and the screw holes in the mounting feet do not line up.
• The bottom rail of the screen covering is not perfectly horizontal/level
(this can be detrimental to the proper operation of rolling and unrolling
of the fabric as well as to drainage).
• When unrolling the fabric, the bottom rail becomes slanted, and gets
stuck.
• When unrolling the fabric, the bottom rail becomes slanted, and gets
stuck.
• The remote control is not working.
• The remote control is not working.
• It is not possible to hook the screen box into the wall brackets, because
it collides with a ceiling.
• The lateral guide can move loosely up and down without using equip-
ment.
• There are disturbingly many wrinkles in the screen covering.
• The fabric is hanging very loose in the closed position (fabric completely
rolled open).
CAUSE
➞ Tolerance in production, placement on an uneven surface
➞ Installation on an uneven surface.
➞ Poor placement; the columns are not perfectly at right
angles with respect to the wall/screen box or at the correct
distance from each other.
➞ Poor placement; the bottom rail is not perfectly horizontal.
➞ It is not the correct remote control for the type of motor.
➞ The motor has no power.
➞ The wall brackets have been positioned too high.
➞ When adjusting the height (levelling the bottom rail), too
much force has been applied and the internal locking
(circlip) has been damaged.
➞ Folds and wrinkles in the screen covering are normal on
installation and are due to the packaging and installation.
➞ The 'bottom' end point is not adjusted properly.
SOLUTION
➞ Widen the holes in the columns yourself.
➞ Adjust the height of the lateral guides on the columns
(+/- 25 mm) until the bottom rail is perfectly horizontal.
➞ Ensure correct placement.
➞ Adjust the height of the lateral guides on the columns
(+/- 25 mm) until the bottom rail is perfectly horizontal
(level).
➞ Check whether you are using the correct remote control: for
an IO motor, you must use an IO remote; for an RTS motor,
an RTS remote.
➞ Check the power supply.
➞ It is necessary to have at least 5 cm above the wall brackets
(= total height + 1 cm) in order to be able to install the
screen box and at least 20 cm (= total height + 16 cm) in
order to install the screen box and to be able to remove the
screen box cover (recommended!)
➞ It is necessary to disconnect the lateral guides from their
point of connection to the column. Remove this point of
connection from the column and install a new circlip in the
correct position.
➞ Leave the screen covering in the closed position for at least
10 days (unrolled fabric); it is not permitted to pull on the
fabric. Re-evaluate the creases and wrinkles again. If there
is then still disturbingly much wrinkling: contact us. A small
amount of wrinkling is unavoidable and characteristic of
the fabric.
➞ Adjust the end point.
