geschobenen Stellung dürfen die
Gelenkwellenhälften nicht aufein-
ander stoßen. Es muß noch ein
Schiebeweg von (a) = ca. 40 mm
vorhanden sein.

Inneres und äußeres Schiebe pro-
fil um die gleiche Länge wie das

Schutzrohr kürzen.
Trennkanten abrunden und Spä-
ne sorgfältig entfernen.

Before Operation
Adapting the drive shaft length:
Pull both shaft sections apart and
fit them to the PTO stub ends.
Place the two sections along-
side each other so as to reach
the shortest length the shaft will
have
to accommodate and mark the
sections (fig. 9).
Observe the maximum permissib-
le shaft length (LB). Try to reach
the maximum possible overlap
for the profile tubes.
During field operation, the over-
lap (PU) of the tubes must never
be less than 50% of the overlap
which is available when the tubes
are fully compressed (LZ).
At the shortest operating length
the tubes must not collide. A mini-
mum clearance (a) = approx. 40
mm must still be present.
Cut the male and the female guard
tubes to the correct length.
Then cut the same length from the
male and female profile tubes.
File the cut area and remove any
metal burrs.
Grease the sliding surface of the
profile tubes.

Danger of accident!
Never remove the guards
(2) of the universal drive shaft
(fig. 2)!
Always engage the drive shaft
slowly to save the drive mecha-
nism.
Observe the recommendations
of the drive shaft manufacturer.
Connect the safety chains for the
drive shaft guard securely to a
stationary point on the machine
and on the tractor.
The protective tubes of all univer-
sal drive shafts must be secured
against travelling by mounting the
chains (1).
