12 Service
12.1 Contaminated pump
Warning
If the pump has been used to pump a harmful or toxic liquid, the pump is classified
as contaminated.
If the pump is classified as contaminated, detailed information about the pumped medium must be
available for each service request. If service is required, it is essential that contact is made before
the pump is shipped and that further information on pumped media, etc. is available, otherwise the
pump may not be accepted. Any shipping costs shall be borne by the consignor.
12.2 Spare parts/accessories
We draw your attention explicitly to the fact that spare parts and accessories not supplied by
Biral are neither tested nor approved. The installation and/or use of such products may, there-
fore, adversely affect pump design properties and consequently impair the pump under certain
circumstances. Biral accepts no liability of any kind whatsoever and provides no warranty for loss
or damage caused by the use of unapproved spare parts or accessories. In addition, the use of
accessories and spare parts from third-party manufacturers voids the warranty.
13 Accessories
13.1 Biral Interface Module BIM B3
BIM B3
Control module for:
– Self-regulating pumps
– External speed specification
– External target value specification
– Operating or ready message (can be switched)
– Alternating or reserve mode (can be switched)
BIM PROFIBUS DP (CIM 150)
Biral interface module for communication via a PROFIBUS network.
The BIM PROFIBUS DP has the appropriate terminals for connection to a
PROFIBUS DP network. The terminating resistor is set using DIP switches.
Two hexadecimal rotary switches are used to set the PROFIBUS DP address.
The current communication status of the CIM 150 is indicated by two LEDs.
One LED is used to indicate that the pump is correctly connected to the
network and the other shows the communication status on the PROFIBUS
network.
