Safety warnings for the operator/user
Hazards caused by electrical energy must be eliminated (for details see, for example, the Swiss
low-voltage installation standards (CENELEC) or contact your local energy supplier).

Safety warnings for maintenance, inspection and installation work
The operator is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance, inspection and installation work is
carried out by authorised personnel who are suitably qualified and have sufficient knowledge of the
system, gained through reading the installation and operating instructions thoroughly.
Work must never be carried out on the system while it is in operation. All safety features and pro-
tective devices must be refitted and/or reactivated as soon as the work is complete and before
the system is re-commissioned. Before re-commissioning, all points listed in Section 5 "Electrical
connection" must be observed.

Unauthorised modifications and spare parts manufacture
The system may only be modified or altered with prior agreement from the manufacturer. Original
spare parts and accessories authorised by the manufacturer are necessary to ensure operational
safety. The use of other parts may negate any liability on the part of the manufacturer for the result-
ing consequences.

Unauthorised methods of operation
The operational safety of the system can only be guaranteed if it is used as intended according to
the installation and operating instructions. The maximum limits specified in the technical data must
not be exceeded under any circumstances.

This pump is subject to:
– Various EC Directives
– Various harmonised standards
Precise information can be found in the EC Declaration of Conformity. Furthermore, operation of the
pump is subject to additional national standards. These include, for example, accident prevention
regulations, VDE regulations, machine safety, etc.

General information
The Biral VivarA series consists of a complete range of in-line pumps with integrated frequency
inverters, which enables regulated adjustment of the flow rate to the actual requirements of the
respective system. This reduces the energy consumption in many systems and improves the con-
trol behaviour of the system. Furthermore, flow noise from control valves is effectively reduced. All
necessary settings can be adjusted via the pump control panel or via the Biral ONE app.

Area of application
Biral in-line pumps are designed to circulate pure media in a cold or warm state (see pumped media)
in residential buildings, industrial plants or institutions, for example:
– Heating systems
– Central heating systems for blocks of flats
– Air-conditioning systems
– Cooling systems
