Intake pressure
To ensure optimum and smooth pump operation, the intake pressure (system pressure) must be
set correctly.
8.5.1 Min. intake pressure
Note
Only low resistances are permitted in suction lines, i.e. the zero point of the system
must be just upstream of the pump intake connection.
At 500 m above sea level, the minimum intake pressure is:

8.5.2 Max. intake pressure
The max. intake pressure and zero pump pressure must always be lower than the maximum per-
missible operating pressure (see Section 8.4).
8.6
Flow rate
8.6.1 Min. flow rate
Note
A minimum flow rate must always flow through the pump.
A minimum flow rate of 10% of the flow rate at the point of maximum efficiency must always flow
through the pump. For regulated pumps running at reduced speed, this value may also be lower.
The flow rate and the flow head at the point of maximum efficiency (BEP) can be taken from the
pump's data sheet.
