8.5 Storage
DANGER for children!
Keep the device out of the reach of chil-
dren.
• Let all parts dry completely before you
put them away or use the device again.
• If you store solid frying fat in the oil con-
tainer 7, close the lid 1 and place the
deep fryer 9 in a cool, dark place (see
"Filtering and storage of frying fat/oil"
on page 14).
• Unlock the handle 5 by pulling the but-
ton 4 away from the deep fryer with
your thumb. Then fold the handle 5
down.
• Store all accessories in a dry, dust-free
place.
• Wind up the power cable with mains
plug 14 and insert it into the storage com-
partment 13 on the back of the device.
9. Replacing the
battery
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Be sure to observe the correct polarity
when inserting the battery.
You need a LR1130 1.5 V battery (inserted on
delivery).
1. Pry up the timer 26 at the recess and re-
move it from the electrical unit 10.
2. Loosen the 4 screws on the back and re-
move the battery cover.
3. Replace the battery. Be sure to observe
the correct polarity when inserting the
+
battery (
-pole pointing upwards).
4. Screw on the battery cover.
5. Insert the timer 26 into the electrical
unit 10.

bol showing a wheelie bin
crossed through indicates
that the product requires sep-
arate refuse collection in the European Un-
ion. This applies to the product and all
accessories marked with this symbol. Prod-
ucts identified with this symbol may not be
discarded with normal household waste, but
must be taken to a collection point for recy-
cling electric and electronic appliances.
Batteries must not be discarded with your
household waste. Spent batteries must be
disposed of properly. Special containers are
available for this purpose in shops selling
batteries and at municipal collection points.
(Rechargeable) batteries marked with the
following letters contain harmful substances
such as: Cd (cadmium), Hg (mercury),
Pb (lead).
This recycling symbol marks
e.g. an object or parts of the
material as valuable for recy-
cling. Recycling helps to re-
duce the consumption of raw
materials and protect the environment.
Packaging
When disposing of the packaging, make
sure you comply with the environmental reg-
ulations applicable in your country.
