@ Asearch is performed for the beginning of the current play-
back selection or the next playback selection.
(A selection jump can also be performed up to 15 selections
forward or backward.)
m When the direction indicator shows ( & ) during
playback:
If the «<4 button is pressed one time, the current playback
selection returns to the beginning.
If the »» button is pressed one time, playback advances to
the beginning of the next selection.
m When the direction indicator shows (<J ) during
playback:
If the >» button is pressed one time, the current playback
selection returns to the beginning.
If the «<4 button is pressed one time the playback advances
to the beginning of the next selection.
m To jump to a selection:
Press the >» or << button the desired number of selections
you wish to skip.
For example, if the PLAY (>) button is pressed during playback
of the third selection:
If the »» button is pressed two times, playback jumps to the
beginning of the fifth selection.
If the «<< button is pressed two times, playback jumps to the
beginning of the second selection.

Press the button two times to jump to the beginning of the pre-
vious selection. The first time the button is pressed, playback
only returns to the beginning of the current selection so the
button must be pressed an additional time.

The music search (MS) function will not operate correctly for
the following types of tape.
1. Tapes are used which do not have approximately 4 seconds
of unrecorded tape between selections.
2. Tape is used which has noise between the selections.
3. Tape contains selections with low level sounds that con-
tinue for several seconds as in classical music or with sec-
tions where the sound stops for a few seconds in the mid-
dle of a selection.
4. Tape is played that contains
a conversation
or other
sounds with intermittent pauses.
5. Tape is used which has extremely small sounds that con-
tinue more than 4 seconds during a selection.
6. Tape is used which has an extremely low recording level
that is longer than 4 seconds.
7. Tapes containing selections which are less than 30 seconds.

Donotchange the tape play direction during a music search.
This may damage or stretch the tape.

[0000] will be displayed.
