SETTING THE CLOCK ( [5])
m The time can be adjusted even if the power is OFF
(STANDBY mode).
EXAMPLE:
Set the clock to 18:45.

. Press the
button when the power is off.
Press repeatedly until [CLOCK ADJ] is displayed.
. Press the ©) button.
The hour position flashes.
. Press the &} and (4 buttons to adjust the hour set-
ting.
. Press the
button.
The minute position flashes.
. Press the &-] and
buttons to adjust the minute set-
ting.
. Press the [<] button when the adjusted time starts.
NOTES:

The time that is displayed when the power plug is inserted will
be the same time that was previously set when the plug was
disconnected.
The time display will continue flashing until the time is reset.
If the time is not set, the wake-up timer and timer recording
will not operate.

TO LISTEN TO RADIO
Confirm that the radio antennas have been connected.
Do not allow the AM antenna to touch the metal case of the
tuner amplifier, and do not locate it near a CD player, LD play-
er, DAT player, personal computer, or television, since noise
will result.
The AM loop antenna and the FM antenna may produce dif-
ferent audio characteristics depending on the installation loca-
tion and the directional position. Adjust the installation loca-
tion and antenna direction to obtain the optimal sound.
. Press the (¥) button.
Select AM or FM broadcast.
. Press the & or & button and perform one of the three
operations described below to set the desired fre-
quencies.
m One-step tuning
Press the FJ or £4 button and release quickly.

The frequency changes one step at a time.
m@ Auto-tuning
Press the F} or &) button for 1 to 2 seconds.
Release the
button when the frequency starts to change.
@
Ifa broadcast is received, the TUNED indicator lights and
stays on.
@ High-speed manual tuning
Press the &J or
button continuously.
@
The frequency changes if the button is pressed continu-
ously. If the button is released, the last frequency that was
displayed remains.
