Troubleshooting list

Note: In the case of incorrect operation, first check the following:
That the construction and ventilation of the steamroom, as
well as the correct power output in relation to room volume,
are in accordance with our instructions.
That the control panel, steam generator, temperature sensor
and external switch and door contact (if any) are connected
correctly in accordance with the wiring diagram.
That the steam generator is installed correctly in accordance
with these instructions.
That the drainage piping has a definite down-slope to the
drain.
There must not be any water pockets in the steam piping or
any ventilation ducts leading from the steamroom.
That the steam piping does not have any sharp bends (min.
radius 50 mm).
That the shut-off valve (if there is one) in the water supply line
to the steam generator is not closed.
Below is a troubleshooting list showing possible causes of faults
and suggested remedies.
If a fault code is displayed on the control panel, see the user
instructions for the control panel.
Important! Note that the remedies in the troubleshooting list
that regard pipes and electrical installation must be perfor-
med by a qualified professional.
The set temperature (40-50°C) is reached in the steamroom,
but there is no steam inside the room.
1.
Fault cause: Insufficient ventilation in the steamroom.
Corrective action: Increase the amount of ventilation. If the
outlet vent evacuates less than 10-20 m³ of air per person
per hour, the ventilation is insufficient. This can occur if the
outlet vent is not connected to a mechanical extractor, or if a
water pocket is blocking the ventilation duct.
2.
Fault cause: The incoming air temperature to the steamroom
is too high.
Corrective action: Reduce the incoming air temperature to
max. 35°C.
Fault cause: The ambient air temperature surrounding the
3.
steamroom is higher than 35°C.
Corrective action: Ensure that the ambient temperature does
not exceed 35°C.
The steamroom is taking an unusually long time to warm up
or neither steam nor heat are generated.
1.
Fault cause: The steam generator's power output is too low.
See the table indicating correct power output in relation to
room volume in these instructions.
Corrective action: Change to a steam generator with a higher
power output.
Fault cause: The ventilation in the steamroom is too strong.
2.
Corrective action: Reduce the amount of ventilation. The
ventilation rate should be 10-20 m³ of air per person per hour.
Fault cause: A fuse in the distribution board has blown/trip-
3.
ped.
Corrective action: Replace/reset the fuse.
Fault cause: Faulty/broken pipe element in steam generator.
4.
Corrective action: Replace the pipe element.
Fault cause: The steamroom temperature sensor has been
5.
placed too close to the steam jet.
Corrective action: Move the temperature sensor or change
the direction of the steam jet. If the temperature sensor is
accidentally hit by steam, the room temperature in the control
panel increases and the steam generator starts to regulate

Troubleshooting

the heat too early.
Fault cause: A started steam bath session has been switched
6.
off (session time ended, session manually switched off) or a
fault code has been generated.
Corrective action: Check the control panel status, start a new
steam bath session. See user instructions for control panel.
7.
Fault cause: The steam generator has been incorrectly wired
up.
Corrective action: Check the electrical wiring/connections
diagram.
Fault cause: The mechanical temperature cut-out has been
8.
triggered, in which case the control panel will switch off.
Corrective action: Reset the temperature cut-out. See the
Temperature cut-out section.
Fault cause: Internal circuit board fault or control panel fault.
9.
Corrective action: Replace the faulty component.
Water flows out of the steam nozzle unevenly, or water flows
out with reduced pressure mixed with steam.
It is normal for a little water (condensed in the steam pipe) to oc-
casionally drip from the steam nozzle during operation and follow
the steam; this is not a sign of a defect.
1.
Fault cause: Small water pocket in the steam pipe.
Corrective action: Adjust the water pipe to eliminate the water
pocket.
2.
Fault cause: Excessive length of uninsulated steam pipe.
Corrective action: Insulate the steam pipe. Should be insu-
lated if longer than 3 metres, to prevent the condensation of
steam.
Fault cause: Build-up of deposit on the electrodes that control
3.
the water level.
Corrective action: Remove and clean the electrodes. Rub
with a cloth until all deposits have been removed. See the
section "Electrodes, water level".
Water runs out of the steam generator drain/motorised ball
valve.
Fault cause: The motorised ball valve is in the open position.
1.
Corrective action: Check the control panel status to see
whether a fault code has occurred which is causing fault
code clearing of the tank. Check whether the tank has started
draining automatically during operation or after a steam bath
session has ended. These occurrences are a normal part of
the steam generator's function and do not signify a fault or
error.
2.
Fault cause: Motorised ball valve doesn't close.
Corrective action: Check that the switch for manual water
control (inside the product) is not in the On position and
whether the switch is broken. Check the circuit board to see if
the relay is faulty.
Loud banging in the water lines when the water solenoid
valve opens or closes.
1.
Fault cause: The incoming water piping to the steam genera-
tor is not satisfactorily secured.
Corrective action: Using clamps, firmly secure the incoming
water piping to the wall.
Fault cause: Recoil (water hammer) in the incoming water
2.
piping.Corrective action: To counteract the noise, use of a
soft flexible reinforced rubber hose, approximately 1 metre
(nearest the steam generator) that can withstand the water
pressure, is recommended.
During operation and when the steam generator adds water,
noise may be emitted. This is due to temperature differences
in the water reservoir. This is normal.
