Steam pipe dimensions
When installing a new steam generator or steam pipe
For all new installations, use a steam pipe with a minimum inner
diameter of 19 mm/minimum outer diameter of 22 mm. It is
recommended to use a pipe with an inner diameter of 26.5/outer
diameter of 28 as this will generate a lower working pressure and
a lower noise level. This provides better steam generator opera-
ting conditions and an increased product life.
When replacing an existing steam generator with an older/
existing steamroom
If you are replacing a Tylö steam generator (model VA/VB) that
was installed according to obsolete steam pipe recommendations
(1/2 inch - French 12/14), Tylö recommends increasing the steam
pipe to meet the requirements for installing a new pipe. However,
if the old/existing installation has worked to your satisfaction, you
can continue using the old/existing steam pipe for the Commer-
cial/Home steam generator provided that the rated output for the
steam generator is the same.
Note: When replacing another, non-Tylö steam generator with the
Commercial/Home steam generator, Tylö's steam pipe require-
ments for new installations must be followed.
Connect the steam pipe as follows:
The steam pipe can be installed with a down-slope either towards
the steamroom or towards the steam generator. Alternatively the
steam pipe can be installed with a slope down towards both the
steamroom and towards the steam generator.
IMPORTANT! Read the steam nozzle user guide before starting
the steam pipe installation.
Note: It is important to tighten all the pipe connectors!
1.
Install the T-connector 1 inch (B) on the steam generator
steam outlet (A), with the lock nut hole facing up.
2.
Install the lock nut (C) in the T-connector 1 inch (B) intended
for descaling.
3.
Connect a copper or stainless steel pipe to the T-connector
(D). Then lead the steam pipe to the steam nozzle inside the
steamroom.
