4. Add the ingredients to the baking pan. In the process, pay attention to the order
in which you add the ingredients (see the chapter "What to watch for when baking
bread", section "Order of ingredients").
5. Place the baking pan in the device. It must audibly lock into place.
6. Close the lid.
7. Does your bread recipe require additional ingredients like nuts, fruits, seeds, spices,
chocolate or similar? Add these ingredients to the automatic ingredients dispenser.
If you select one of the programmes 1, 3, 4, 6 or 8, a signal will sound after approxi-
mately 20 minutes and your ingredients will be added automatically.
8. Insert the mains plug in a properly installed 220 – 240 V socket with earthing con-
tacts. The socket must also be easily accessible after the device has been connect-
ed. As soon as the device has been connected to a socket, a signal will sound and
the LCD display will be activated.
9. You can now select a baking programme (see next section "Selecting a programme").
Selecting a programme
You can fi nd an overview of all baking programmes, baking times and possible
selections in the chapter "Programme overview".
1. Use the Menu button to select a baking programme by pressing the button repeat-
edly. The selected programme (1 – 13) will be indicated on the display. You can fi nd
a list of what the baking programmes are suitable for in the chapter "Programme list".
2. Push the Bread size button in order to select a loaf size (750 g, 1000 g or 1250
g). A small bar indicating the selected loaf size will appear in the top part of the
display. Note: Please keep in mind that it is not possible to select the loaf size in
programmes 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13.
3. Push the Crust button to select the colour of the crust (light, medium, dark, quick).
A small bar indicating the selected crust colour will appear in the bottom part of the
display. Note: Please keep in mind that it is not possible to select the loaf size in
programmes 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13.
4. You can now manually start the programme or use the timer to select a time when
the device will automatically start the programme (see next section "Starting the
programme").
Starting the programme
1. If you would like to use the timer, push the arrow keys on the control panel to set a
time in increments of 10 minutes at which the device will automatically start the bak-
ing programme. Push the Start/Stop button to activate the timer. Once the timer is
activated, a small arrow in the display will point to the word Timer next to the display
and the Power light will illuminate. The device will now start the baking process at
the set time. You can deactivate the timer at any time by pressing the Start/Stop
button again long. The arrow on the display will disappear and the Power light will
go off.
2. In order to manually start the baking programme, you only have to press the Start/
Stop button. The Power light will illuminate and the device will promptly begin the
baking process. The time remaining until the programme ends will be shown on the
display.
