DANGER
•
Do not carry the product by the power cable.
•
When the product is not in use, turn off the ON/OFF switch to avoid unnecessary battery consumption and/or
component deterioration.
•
Carry the product with the bar facing backwards, with the bar cover always on in any situation where the
product is not in use, and with the power cable detached from the connector.
•
Before connecting the battery, make sure that the connector has clean contacts (no dirt or other obstructive
material), that they are dry and free of oxidation.
•
Disconnect the battery pack before carrying out any adjustments or routine and extraordinary maintenance.
•
When sharpening and servicing the chain, follow the chain manufacturer's instructions as stated in this
manual.
•
Only use the product with the accessories specified by the Manufacturer.
•
Before any routine maintenance operations, read this manual carefully. For maintenance activities that are
not indicated in the manual, please contact the manufacturer's T.A.C. (Technical Assistance Centre).
•
Maintain all labels and pictograms on the product in a perfectly legible and undamaged condition, with
particular reference to those relating to danger and safety signs.
BEWARE OF KICKBACK
A kickback is a sudden and quick upward and/or backwards movement of the pruner towards the operator
The kickback can be produced when the bar upper part touches an object, or when the wood gets locked or
crushed during the cut.
Hold the product firmly with both hands in order to avoid or reduce the kickback effect. The knowledge and
prevention of any kickback eliminates the "surprise factor", therefore reducing potential accidents. Ensure
that the area where you are cutting is free of obstacles and/or materials that can be ejected.
CAUTION
Before carrying out any maintenance or mechanical adjustment of the product, it is imperative to
wear PPE such as safety shoes, overalls, puncture-proof gloves and goggles to protect the face.
•
Any repair or maintenance work may only be carried out by duly trained personnel. Informed and instructed,
and authorised with the required professional profile (mechanical maintenance technician and/or electrical
maintenance technician) depending on the type of work to be carried out.
•
Only the adjustment and cleaning of the product can also be carried out by the operator. While all other
maintenance activities are precluded to them.
•
It is a mandatory requirement to disconnect the product from the power source before any adjustment
and/or maintenance work (battery pack).
•
During operation, maintenance and/or repair work, unauthorised persons must keep a distance of at least
5 metres from the operating range of the product.
•
The removal of protective or safety devices (where fitted) must only be carried out for extraordinary
maintenance operations and only by maintenance personnel, after disconnection of power sources. The
maintenance technician must ensure the safety of all personnel, also in order to avoid any damage to the
product, as well as to restore the effectiveness of the equipment itself at the end of maintenance and
always before using again.
•
All the maintenance operations which are not described in this manual have to be performed by the
manufacturer's T.A.C.
•
The maintenance, repair and troubleshooting work must be concluded with the verification of the correct
functioning and of all active safety devices.
•
When maintenance or repairs have been completed, the product can be started again only if duly verified
by a maintenance technician, who must make sure that:

work has been completed;
-
the product works perfectly;
-
the safety devices are activated;
-
no one is operating on the product.
