b) Charging batteries ("CHARGE")
• In the main menu, select the "Pb" charge program with the button "BATT.TYPE/STOP".
• Press the button "START/ENTER"; the display shows the following, for example:
The value on the left in the second line shows the charge current, the value on the right shows the voltage
or number of cells of the battery (in this example, a one-cell lead battery, 6x 2.0V = 2.0V).
• If the values need to be changed, press the "START/ENTER" button. The charge current begins to
flash. Change the charge current using the keys "INC" and "DEC" and confirm the value using the
"START/ENTER" key.
• The voltage/cell number then begins to flash. Change this using the buttons "INC" and "DEC". You
should be aware while doing this that the voltage only changes with the number of cells (e.g. one cell =
2.0V, two cells 4.0V etc.) Confirm the setting by pressing the "START/ENTER" button.
• To begin the charging process, keep the "START/ENTER" button pressed for longer (approx. 3 seconds).
• If the settings are wrong, or if the charger detects a problem, an audio signal is emitted and the appro-
priate information is shown on the display.
You can stop the warning signal by pressing the "BATT.TYPE/STOP" button. You then return to the pre-
vious configuration menu.
• If the battery is detected correctly, the following display appears,
for example:
1. Line: Cell type and number of cells, charge current, battery voltage
2. Line: Current duration of charge, charged capacity in mAh
• Once the charging process is complete, an audio signal is emitted.
If you wish to terminate the charging process beforehand, press the "BATT
TYPE/STOP" button.
