If you do not, the following display appears
(alternating):
The "R" value indicates the number of cells
detected by the charger.
The "S" value indicates the number of cells set in the menu.
If these two numbers do not match, please check the settings on the charger and
the battery itself. It may be that the LiPo battery has been completely discharged,
or a cell may be faulty. In this case, the battery should not be charged, as there is a
risk of fire and explosion! You can return to the previous configuration menu using
the "BATT TYPE/STOP" button.
If the two numbers match, you can start the charging process by shortly pressing the "START/ENTER"
button.
Once the charging process has been started, various pieces of information about the current charging
progress are shown on the display - see next image:
Example:
1. Line: Cell type and number of cells, charge current, battery voltage
2. Line: Current duration of charge, charged capacity in mAh
Once the charging process has been completed, an audio signal is emitted (if not turned off).
If you wish to terminate the charging process beforehand, press the "BATT
TYPE/STOP" button.
c) Charging batteries with balancer connection ("BALANCE")
In contrast to the simple charging program "CHARGE", here the voltage of each individual cell is moni-
tored and the charge current is adjusted correspondingly.
Besides the two normal battery connections, the balancer connector for the battery must also be con-
nected to the charger, see chapter 10. a).
The remaining procedure for charging is described in chapter 10. b).
If a multi-cell battery is connected via the balancer connections, you can switch
between the normal display and the display of the cell voltages during the charge
process using the "INC" button.
Only an battery pack with exactly the same voltage for each cell provides the maximum
performance and service life for a model aeroplane/vehicle.
Due to weaknesses in the quality of the material and in internal structure, e.g. of a LiPo
battery pack with several cells, the cells could have a different voltage at the end of the
discharge process.
