When setting the voltage value, make sure that the cell voltage for NiMH is not
below 1.0V and not below 0.85V for NiCd. Otherwise the battery can get dam-
aged!
• To begin the discharge process, keep the "START/ENTER" button pressed for longer (approx. 3 sec-
onds). Now the display shows different information just like during the charge process (discharge time,
discharge capacity, discharge current and current battery voltage).
• If the settings are wrong, or if the charger detects a problem, an audio signal is emitted and the appro-
priate information is shown on the display. You can stop the warning signal by pressing the
"BATT.TYPE/STOP" button. You then return to the previous configuration menu.
• If you press the "Start/Enter" button during the discharge process, the discharge current can be
changed (see above).
• Once the discharge process is complete, an audio signal is emitted.
If you wish to terminate the discharging process beforehand, press the "BATT
TYPE/STOP" button.
c) Cycle program ("CYCLE")
To test or "refresh" batteries (e.g. to make a weak, old battery more efficient), you can perform up to 5
cycles automatically after one another. The two possible combinations are "Discharge/Charge"
("DCHG>CHG") and "Charge/Discharge" ("CHG>DCHG").
• After you have selected the "NiMH" or "NiCd" program with the button "BATT.TYPE/STOP" in the main
menu and confirmed this with the button "START/ENTER", you can select the cycle program using the
button "INC" or "DEC" (illustration shows NiMH battery):
• If you want to switch the charge/discharge sequence or set the cycle number, press the button
"START/ENTER". The text for the program sequence now blinks in the bottom line of the display.
Change the program sequence using the buttons "INC" and "DEC".
In the left image the battery is firstly discharged and then charged. In the right image, this sequence is
reversed, meaning first the battery is charged and then discharged.
• Confirm the selection by pressing the "START/ENTER" button.
