Inspired by life
n Keep in mind that there are fixed and loose
parts sticking out, in and on the wheelchair.
These can cause damage to the environment
and to the wheelchair.
n Companions must never lose sight of the wheel-
chair on a slope without applying the brake.
n Never take obstacles higher than 10 cm alone.
n Apply the wheelchair brake before getting out
of the chair or transferring.
n Only use the brake to lock the stationary wheels.
The brake is not intended to slow down the
wheelchair.
n When braking, heat is generated by the friction
between your hands and the hoops. If you brake
too hard, your hands can get too hot.
Transportation of the wheelchair without an
occupant (see also page 34 for more information)
The NEOX is equipped with a folding frame and
is therefore easy to transport in a car. Keep the
following points in mind:
n Be careful not to pinch your fingers when fol-
ding the wheelchair.
n Always carry the wheelchair by the frame, never
by the leg rest, armrests, wheels or the designa-
ted handle on the upholstery.
n Make sure the wheelchair is fully unfolded
before using it.
n Do not place the wheelchair in direct sunlight.
The upholstery may become too hot and cause
burns or skin irritation.
Transporting the wheelchair with the occupant in
it in a taxi bus (see also page 34 onwards for more
information)
The NEOX is designed to be secured in a taxi van in
a forward direction. The NEOX has tested positive
as a crash test-safe wheelchair in accordance with
ISO 7176-19:2022. So it can be transported with the

occupant in it in a taxi bus. See also the sticker on
the wheelchair that is located on the upper frame
ISO
tube on the front right under the seat mat.

n Attach the wheelchair with occupant to a taxi
bus with an approved 4-point restraint system.
n In addition, use an approved 3-point safety belt
for the safe transport of the wheelchair occu-
pant.
Note:
•
The normal sitting position belt is not intended
to be used as a seat belt.
Ramps and other obstacles
(see also page 32 onwards for more information)
n The wheelchair is more likely to tip over on a
slope than on a flat surface.
n Always move backwards off a sidewalk to pre-
vent the wheelchair from tipping forward and
the occupant from falling out. Never go down
the stairs alone in the wheelchair.
n Never drive the wheelchair up a slope with an
angle of more than 7°
n Ask someone to help you if you're not sure if
you can reach the top of the slope by your own
strength.
n Lean or push your body toward the top of the
slope. This shifts the center of gravity of the
wheelchair forwards or backwards and reduces
the risk of the chair tilting forward or backward.
n The person pushing the wheelchair must conti-
nue to push the chair to prevent it from starting
to move backwards under its own power
n Do not turn on a steep slope. When the wheel-
chair is perpendicular to a steep slope, the risk
of tipping over is high.
n Keep your speed under control when descen-
ding slopes.
