Safety Instructions

Life & Mobility assumes no liability for damage or
injury caused by negligence or non-compliance
with the safety instructions.
Depending on the specific conditions or
accessories used, additional safety instructions may
be required.
Always inform Life & Mobility and the competent
authority in the event of a serious incident.
General
n Never change the construction of the wheel-
chair.
n Use only original Life & Mobility parts and ac-
cessories. These have been tested and are safe.
n Do not add extra weight to the wheelchair.
Markings on the wheelchair
n Markings, safety symbols, and instructions are
displayed on this wheelchair. They should not
be covered or removed. They must remain on
the chair and be clearly visible throughout the
life of the wheelchair.
Assembly and adjustment
n Before using the wheelchair, check that all parts
of the wheelchair are properly assembled and
secured.
n Make sure that the push handles, the back
height, the armrests, the lower leg length and
possibly the headrest are adjusted to the cor-
rect height.
n It is advised to maintain a minimum distance of
5 cm between the leg rests and the floor.
n Check the dimensions and adjust them opti-
mally as described in this manual.
EN12
Sitting in the wheelchair
Do not allow the occupant's fingers and limbs to be
trapped. Be particularly vigilant when:
-
The occupant is skewed in the wheelchair.
-
The occupant does not have full control over
his/her arms and/or legs.
Use of the wheelchair
(see also page 32 for more information)
Warning:
The NEOX is not equipped with an anti-tipping
support as standard. Check that tilting the
wheelchair backwards does not suddenly allow it
to tip backwards. In that case always add the anti-
tippers for additional safety.
When driving up a slope, the center of gravity
will move backwards and the wheelchair can tilt
backwards more easily.
When going down a slope, the center of gravity
will move forward and the user can fall forward
from the wheelchair more easily.
As a wheelchair user, you are vulnerable in traffic.
Make sure that you are always seen and noticed by
other road users. Obey the applicable traffic rules.
Avoid lonely routes, make sure that help can be
provided in case of an emergency.
n The occupant or attendant must be alert to the
possibility of the wheelchair tipping backwards in
the following cases:
- - When the balance position is set to active.
- When the angle of the backrest is large
- When driving up a slope.
- When someone is standing on the anti-tip aid
support and/or on the anti-tipping support.
n When self-driving the wheelchair, pay attention to
your hands if there is not much space on the side(s)
or brakes of the wheelchair.
