The possibility of attaching the chainsaw directly to the carrying strap reduces the risk of
damaging the device when moving in the tree. The chainsaw should always be switched off
when it is attached directly to the riser.
The chainsaw should only be attached to the recommended suspension device (18) on the
carrying strap. These may be in the middle (front or back) or on the sides. Wherever possible,
the chainsaw should be attached to the centred rear centre of the riser to keep it away from
climbing ropes and to support the weight centrally under the user's spine. See figure A.2.
If the chainsaw is moved from one suspension device (18) to another, make sure that the
chainsaw is secured in the new position before it is released from the previous suspension
device (18).

Using the chainsaw in the tree

An analysis of accidents with these chainsaws during tree care work shows that the main
cause is improper one-handed use of the chainsaw. In most accidents, users do not assume a
safe working position that allows them to hold the chain saw by both handles, which causes an
increased risk of injury from the following:
lack of a firm grip on the kickback of the chainsaw;
lack of control of the chain saw, making it easier for it to come into contact with climbing
ropes and with the user's body (especially with the left hand and arm), and loss of control due
