Tubes
Connect the pressure pipe with the pressure side of the
pump station. Use the "Delomet"-Glue from the acces-
sories kit. Arrange the glue of the winding from pressure
port, screw the pressure pipe on the pressure port and
let it dry. The venting pipe and the electrical connections
should be installed in different pipes The electric power
supply to the pump station must be arranged separately
from the earth fault system.
Equipotential bonding
The equipotential bonding serves to protect against in-
admissibly high potential differences and to reduce dan-
gerous contact voltages. In the potentially explosive at-
mosphere, the potential equalization additionally serves
to prevent explosions caused by ignitable gases caused
by ignition sparks. Pump shafts that are connected to the
public sewer network are considered to be potentially ex-
plosive areas of Zone 1. Within Zone 1, a potential equal-
ization is mandatory (VDE 0165-5.3.3 of 2.91). The equipo-
tential bonding cable must be attached to the strap clamp
(see figure). Establish the potential equalization according
to VDE 0100, part 540.
Pressure probe with protective tube
The protective tube with the probe is already mounted in
the shaft. Under no circumstances should you lean on this
pipe or enter it. As a result, the tube could be adjusted
in its height and thus the switch-on points would also be
adjusted.
5.6. Start-Up
The „Start-up" chapter contains all the important instruc-
tions for the operating personnel for starting up and oper-
ating the machine safely.
The following specifications must be adhered to and
checked:
•
Type of installation
•
Operating mode
•
Minimum water coverage / max. submersion
If the machine has not been operated for some time,
check these specifications again and rectify any faults
you find!

The operation and maintenance handbook must al-
ways be kept either by the machine or in a place spe-
cially reserved for it where it is accessible for operat-
ing personnel at all times.
In order to prevent damage or serious injury during start-
up of the machine, the following points must be observed:

5.7. Electrical system
Equipotential
bonding
The electrical connection of the pump should be carried
out in accordance with local requirements. The operating
voltage and frequency are marked on the pump and con-
troller nameplates. Voltage tolerance: +6% up to -10% of
the voltage stated on the nameplates. Make sure that the
pumps of the pump station are suitable for the electricity
supply available at the installation site. HOMA SK 6 / SK
9 pump stations are supplied with a control box. Control-
ler for single-phase pumps also incorporate the operating
capacitors required.
The pump motors have a thermal switch incorporated in
the motor windings. The thermal switch protects the mo-
tor from overheating by cutting off the supply to the pump
via the controller.
The machine may only be started up by qualified
personnel. The safety advice must be followed at
all times.
Every person working on the machine must have re-
ceived, read and understood this operating and main-
tenance manual. This must also be confirmed with a
signature in the machine operator list.
Activate all safety devices and emergency stop ele-
ments before start-up.
Electrical and mechanical settings may only be made
by specialists.
Read the instruction manual of the pump and the con-
trol unit
Before starting the pump station make sure that all
isolating valves are open and check that the unit runs
satisfactorily.
Turn the operation switch into the position „Auto".
Before operation, an expert check must secure that
the required electrical protection measures exist.
The connection to ground, earthing, isolating trans-
former, fault current breaker or fault voltages circuit
must correspond to the guidelines set forth by the
responsible power plant.
The voltage required in the technical data sheet must
correspond to the existing line voltage.
Make sure that the electrical pin-and-socket con-
nections are installed flood- and moisture-safe. Be-
fore starting operation check the cable and the plug
against damages.
The end of the pump power supply cable must not be
submerged in order to prevent water from penetrat-
ing through the cable into the motor.
The normal separate motor starter/control box of
standard as well as of explosion proof pumps must
not be installed in explosive environments.
