6.4. Seal chamber

In order to access the seal chamber, remove the pump
casing and the impeller as described in „Visual inspection
for pumps with an oil barrier chamber".
Carefully and slowly unscrew the sealing chamber's
locking screw (Pos.903).
Attention: The operating fluid may be under pressure!
Unscrew the locking screw. Drain the operating fluid
and collect in a suitable container. Clean the locking
screw, equip with a new seal ring and tighten again.
To completely empty the machine, it must be placed
vertically.
Ensure that the machine cannot tip over and/or slide
away!
Position the machine so that the shaft end is
pointing upward; fill with operating fluid. Observe the
prescribed operating fluid and fill quantities.
Clean the locking screw, equip with a new seal ring
and tighten again.

7. Repair work

7.1. General

The following repair work can be carried out on this ma-
chine:
For this work, the following should generally be observed:
Unless otherwise specified, the torque values of the
tables should be used. Values for clean, lubricated screws.
Tightening torque [Nm] for screws A2/A4 (friction
coefficient = 0.2)

7.2. Replacing various pump parts

Replacing the impeller and pump casing
Ensure that the fitting surfaces are not damaged!
Replacing the axial face seal
Replacing the axial face seal requires basic knowledge
and certain skills regarding these sensitive components.
Furthermore, this machine must be dismantled to a great
degree for this work.
Only original parts may be used as replacements!
The inspection and replacement of these parts is carried
out by the manufacturer for the overhaul or by specially
trained personnel.
For ex-approved machines, please observe the "EX
safety" section in the annex
Replacement of impeller and pump chamber
O-rings and available seals must always be replaced.
Screw locks such as spring washers must always be
replaced.
The tightening torques must be observed.
In general, the following applies for repair work:
Turn off machine, disconnect from the power supply,
clean and place on a solid surface in a vertical positi-
on. Secure against tipping over and/or sliding!

Position the pump vertically and unscrew the
hexagon socket head screws (Pos.914.01).
Remove the pump casing from the motor housing.
Unscrew the hexagon nut (Pos.70) and remo-
ve the impeller (Pos.230) from the motor shaft
using the washer (Pos.522) and the retaining ring
(Pos.930.02).
Clean shaft
Place new impeller onto the shaft.
Now assemble everything in the reverse order.
