A test run or function test of the machinery must only
be carried out according to the general operating
conditions!
When using white oils, please observe the following:
•
To refill and/or fill for the first time, only input prod-
ucts by the same manufacturer may be used
•
Machines that have previously been operated with
other operating materials must first be cleaned thor-
oughly before they may be operated with white oils.
6.2. Maintenance schedule
Prior to commissioning and after prolonged storage:
•
Testing of the insulation resistance
•
Fill level check for the sealing space / seal chamber
•
Mechanical seal must be checked for damage.
Daily:
•
Check of the power input and voltage
•
Check of the promoted quantity
Monthly:
•
Testing of the insulation resistance
12 months or 3,000 operating hours (whichever occurs
first):
•
Visual check of the operating material
24 months or 4500 operating hours (whichever occurs
first):
•
Operating material replacement sealing space / seal
chamber
•
Replacing the mechanical seal
24 months to 60 months:
•
General overhaul in the works
When used with highly abrasive and/or aggressive
media, the maintenance intervals are shorter.
6.3. Maintenance work
Check of the power input and voltage
The power input and voltage for all three phases must be
checked regularly. In normal operation mode this remains
constant. Slight fluctuations depend on the properties of
the pumped medium. Based on the power input damages
and/or malfunctions of the impeller/propeller, bearing and/
or motor can be detected and repaired early. Major sec-
ondary damages can be prevented with this and the risk
of a total failure can be reduced.

Testing of the insulation resistance
To check the insulation resistance, the power supply line
must be disconnected. Then, the resistance can be mea-
sured using an insulation tester (measuring DC voltage is
1000 volts). The insulation resistance must not fall below
10 MΩ.
Do not connect machine; consult the manufacturer!
Visual check of the operating material
Oil Level
Please take the precise filling quantity from the spare
parts list or make a request to the manufacturer.
Oil Condition
The condition of the mechanical seals can be checked by
a visual inspection of the oil. Place the pump horizontally
so that the oil chamber check screw located on the side
of the motor housing is facing up. Remove the screw
and withdraw a small quantity of oil. If the oil is milky or
cloudy, this indicates a defective shaft seal. In this case,
have the condition of the shaft seals checked by a HOMA
workshop or the factory customer service department.
Used oil must be disposed of in accordance with the valid
environmental regulations.
Replacing the mechanical seal
This work may only be carried out by the manufacturer or
an authorised service workshop.
General overhaul
During a general overhaul, in addition to the standard
maintenance work, the motor bearings, shaft seals,
O-rings and the power supply lines are also checked and
replaced if necessary. This work may only be carried out
by the manufacturer or an authorised service workshop.
Changing operating materials
The drained operating material must be checked for con-
tamination and water admixtures. If the operating material
is seriously contaminated and more than 1/3 water pro-
portion is present, the material must be replaced once
again after 4 weeks. If water is still present in the operat-
ing material, a seal may be defective. Please consult your
manufacturer. When using a sealing chamber or leakage
monitoring, the display will light up again within the next
4 weeks after replacing the material in the event of a de-
fective seal.
In general, when replacing operating materials, the
following applies:
Turn off machine, let cool, disconnect from the pow-
er supply (to be carried out by an expert!), clean and
place on a solid surface in a vertical position. Warm
or hot operating materials may be under pressure.
The emergent operating material may cause burns.
Therefore, allow the machine to cool to ambient tem-
perature first! Secure against falling and/or slipping/
sliding!
