3. General description
3.1. Use
HOMA pumps promote domestic, municipal and industrial
wastewater, sewage and sludges with high solids and fi-
brous material content, as well as wastewater of all kinds.
They promote this wastewater from small residential and
industrial buildings to large pumping stations and waste-
water treatment plants. The pumps are not suitable for
conveying mediums with strongly abrasive components
(e.g. sand, gravel, stones) or mediums with chemically ag-
gressive components. Use in slurp mode is not permitted.
The minimum level of promoting medium must always
be over the upper edge of the pump casing, depending
on the installation type and motor cooling.During wet in-
stallation without a water jacket, the motor housing must
always be completely submerged.
The temperature of the pumped medium may be up to
40°C. The maximum density of the pumped medium is
1,100 kg/m3 and the pH value may be 6 to 11.
3.2. Type of application
The motor is designed for operating mode S 1 (continuous
operation) with a max. switching frequency of 15 circuits/
hour. The hydraulics are designed for permanent contin-
uous operation, such as for the industrial service water
supply.
3.3. Structure
The submersible aggregate consists of the motor, the
pump casing and the suitable impeller. All important parts
are of generous dimension.
