fumes.
d) Make sure the air circulation is ad-
equate and good. The machine must be
easily accessible from all sides.
e) Always switch the machine off and let
it cool down, before refuelling it. Petrol
is easily flammable. Never smoke when
you are refuelling the machine. Do not
refuel the machine if there is an open
fire in the vicinity!
f) Always use suitable aids such as fun-
nels and filler necks. Do not spill any
fuel on the machine or its exhaust sys-
tem. There is a risk of ignition. However,
if fuel should be spilled, then it must be
removed carefully from all parts of the
machine. Any residue which may be
present must have completely volatil-
ized, before the machine is operated!
g) Exhaust gases and fuel fumes are nox-
ious. Fuel fumes can ignite. Never use
the machine in environments where
there is a risk of explosion.
h) Never breathe in any fuel fumes, when
you are refuelling the machine. Never
fill the tank in enclosed spaces, such as
basements or sheds. There is a risk of
poisoning and explosion!
i) Avoid skin contact with petrol.
j) Do not eat or drink, while refuelling the
machine. If petrol or oil was swallowed
or if petrol or oil has got into the eyes,
then seek the advice of a doctor imme-
diately.
k) Close the tank cap immediately after
filling the tank. Make sure that it is
properly closed.
l) Never use the machine without an air
filter.
6) RESIDUAL RISKS
Even if the machine is operated in accord-
ance with the provision, residual risks will
always still remain. The following dangers
can arise in connection with the structure
and design of the machine:
a) Health defects resulting from vibration
emission if the machine is being used
over longer period of time or not ad-
equately managed and properly main-
tained.
b) Injuries and damage to property due to
broken accessories or hidden objects
that are suddenly dashed.
c) Injuries and damage to property due to
thrown objects.
d) Burns, if touching hot surfaces.
7) EMERGENCY
Familiarize yourself with the use of this
machine by means of this instruction
manual. Memorize the safety directions
and follow them to the letter. This will help
to prevent risks and hazards:
a) Always be alert when using this ma-
chine so that you can recognize and
handle risks early. Fast intervention
can prevent serious injury and damage
to property.
b) Stop the engine and unplug the spark
plug connector if there are malfunc-
tions. Have the machine checked by a
qualified professional and repaired, if
necessary, before it is put into opera-
tion again.
c) In case of fire stop the engine and un-
plug the spark plug connector. Immedi-
ately use fire-extinguishing measures,
if the switch of the machine is no longer
accessible.
8) VIBRATION & NOISE REDUCTION
To reduce the impact of noise and vibra-
tion emission, limit the time of operation,
use low-vibration and low-noise operation
modes as well as wear personal protec-
tive equipment. Take the following points
into account to minimize the vibration and
noise exposure risks:
a) Only use the machine as intended by its
design and these instructions.
b) Ensure that the machine is in good con-
dition and well maintained.
c) Use correct application tools for the
machine and ensure they are in good
condition.
d) Keep tight grip on the handles/grip sur-
faces.
