1. Instruction manual - Safety area
1.
This anchorage point AP-Fix type / AP-Fix S; as per EN 795:2012 Type A and CEN/TS 16415:2013
has been tested and approved for the safeguarding of a maximum of 2 persons against falls, and for
rescue-related purposes.
Please note: The AP-Fix anchorage point can be mounted in the available steel structures.
Alternatively, the enclosed reaction-anchor cartridge can be used to anchor it in concrete of a
minimum quality level of C 20 / C 25.
2.
Before the item in question is put into operation and used, the instruction manual and as
sembly instructions must be read in their entirety and understood. Caution: Failure to do
so will result in mortal danger!
3.
Failure to observe these instructions for use can lead to fatal injuries. in case of a fall it schould be
ensured that the person is not left hanging for longer than 15 minutes (danger of shock).
4.
A rescue plan has to be available that considers all potential incidents which may occur during work.
5.
The anchorage point may only be used by persons who have been trained accordingly or have been
instructed by a competent person. Health-related impediments should not exist! (E.g. alcohol-rela-
ted, narcotics-related, medicine-related or circulation problems)
6.
Prior to each use, the anchor point should be inspected for visible defects (loose screw connections,
deformations, wear and tear, corrosion, ruptures in the subfoundations), to ensure defect-free func-
tioning and to verify the legibility of the product labeling.
7.
The anchor point may only be used with a suitable personal fall protection system according to EN
363 that limits the possible fall height to a minimum. Only a full harness that complies with EN 361
may be used as a body holding device. Sufficient clearance below the operator must be ensured be-
fore using the fall protection system, so that the ground or other obstacles are not hit before the pro-
tection has safely arrested the fall. The specifications from the instruction manuals for the individual
components of the specific fall protection system in use should be observed in order to determine
the required clearance. Where individual components of the fall protection system are combined, it
should be ensured that the functionality of each individual component is retained without restriction
and that combined components do not cause mutual interference. The instruction manuals for the
individual systems should be observed at all times.
8.
When disposal systems are used, the maximum stress on the anchorage point may not dynamically
exceed 6 kN.
9.
A system is damaged or strained by a fall, or if doubts exist regarding the secure status of the sys-
tem, the system should immediately be withdrawn from use. It may only be re-used after an expert
has inspected it and written approval has been obtained.
10. Depending on the stress to which it is subjected - but at least every 12 months - the anchorage point
must be inspected by the manufacturer or an expert whose field of expertise relates to personal
protective equipment providing anti-fall protection and who has been trained in accordance with
DGUV-G 312-906 (principles of workplace safety) . This must be documented in the enclosed test
book. Guaranteeing an optimal level of security for the components depends on regular inspections.
The usage period of the anchorage point must be determined during the annual inspection. Depen-
ding on the load it is a minimum of 30 years.
11.
DGUV R112-198 and DGUV R112-199 should be considered.
12. A lifting-and-lowering facility for loads may not be connected to the anchorage point.
13. The anchorage point should be protected from the effects of welding flames and welding sparks, fire,
acids, lyes, extreme temperatures and other similar environmental influences. After the anchorage
point has been used and disassembled, it should be stored in a clean, dry and well-ventilated place
until it is used again.
14. The complete system may not be changed or complemented.
15. A suitable seating surface should be chosen for the assembly of the anchorage point. The ancho-
rage point should be positioned vertically above the workspace of the person who is to be safeguar-
ded in order to rule out pendular movements in case of a fall.
16. Before operations are initiated a qualified person should check the correct assembly of the
anchorage point in accordance with § 14 of the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health
and document it in the acceptance protocol.
17. The anchorage point should be subjected to a test load if the recurring inspections lead to
the detection of ruptures in the sub-foundations in the direct vicinity of the anchorage point.
