Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez : que le système de blocage est opérant et que le témoin de chute ne s'est pas déclenché (si existant sur
connecteur). Vérifiez que le câble/sangle n'est pas coupé, effiloché, brulé. Vérifiez que les parties métalliques ne sont ni déformées, ni
oxydées, et vérifiez le bon fonctionnement (verrouillage/ouverture) des connecteurs. Les carters de protections et la couverture du dissipateur
d'énergie doivent être présents et non endommagés. Les marquages doivent rester lisibles. En cas de doute sur l'état de l'appareil, ou après
une chute, il ne doit plus être réutilisé (il est recommandé de l'identifier « HORS SERVICE ») et être retourné au constructeur ou à une
personne compétente, mandatée par celui-ci.
Il est interdit de rajouter de supprimer ou de remplacer un quelconque composant de l'appareil.
Produits chimiques : mettre l'appareil hors service en cas de contact avec des produits chimiques, solvants ou combustibles qui pourraient
affecter le fonctionnement.

COMPATIBILITÉS D'EMPLOI :
L'appareil s'utilise avec un système d'arrêt des chutes tel que défini dans la fiche descriptive (voir norme EN363) dans le but d'assurer que
l'énergie développée lors de l'arrêt de la chute soit inférieure à 6 kN. Un harnais d'antichute (EN361) est le seul dispositif de préhension
du corps qu'il soit permis d'utiliser. Il peut être dangereux de créer son propre système antichute dans lequel chaque fonction de sécurité
peut interférer sur une autre fonction de sécurité. Ainsi, avant toute utilisation, reportez-vous aux recommandations d'utilisation de chaque
composant du système.
VÉRIFICATION :
La durée de vie indicative du produit est de 10 ans (dans le respect de l'inspection annuelle par une personne compétente agréée par
KRATOS SAFETY), mais elle peut être augmentée ou diminuée en fonction de l'utilisation et/ou des résultats des vérifications annuelles.
L'équipement doit être systématiquement vérifié en cas de doute, de chute et au minimum tous les douze mois par le constructeur ou
une personne compétente*, et dans le respect strict des modes opératoires d'examen périodique du fabricant (et en particulier des Guides
d'inspection réf. GI XXXXXXXX-XX), afin de s'assurer de sa résistance et donc de la sécurité de l'utilisateur. La fiche descriptive doit être
complétée (par écrit) après chaque vérification du produit ; la date de vérification et la date de la prochaine vérification doivent être indiquées
sur la fiche descriptive, il est également recommandé d'inscrire la date de la prochaine vérification sur le produit. Lorsqu'un produit est retiré
du service (après une chute ou suite à une inspection), il doit être identifié «HORS SERVICE» et ne doit pas être utilisé à nouveau tant qu'une
personne compétente n'a pas confirmé par écrit que cela était possible.

ENTRETIEN ET STOCKAGE : (Consignes à respecter strictement)
Pendant le transport, éloigner l'équipement de toute partie coupante et conserver dans son emballage. Nettoyer à l'eau, essuyer avec un
chiffon et suspendre dans un local aéré, afin de laisser sécher naturellement et à distance de tout feu direct ou source de chaleur, de même pour
les éléments ayant pris l'humidité lors de leur utilisation. L'appareil doit être rangé dans un local tempéré, sec et aéré dans son emballage.

USE AND PRECAUTIONS:
A retractable fall arrester is a piece of personal protection equipment. It should be allocated to a single user (it can only be used by one
person at a time).
When the user moves (up or down), the cable winds onto and unwinds from a pulley. The webbing is kept taut by means of a return spring.
In the event of a fall, a system locks the webbing and prevents it unwinding, thus stopping the fall instantly. The shock absorber at the end of
the retractable lanyard then tears to absorb the energy generated by the fall.
User safety relies on the effectiveness of the equipment and full understanding of the safety instructions contained in this leaflet.
Product markings should be checked periodically for legibility.
INSTALLATION
In normal use, the top swivel can be connected either to the anchoring point on the structure or to the attachment point on the harness.
WARNING! In horizontal use (close to a sharp edge), it is IMPERATIVE that the top swivel is connected to the anchoring point and that
the other end is connected to attachment point on the harness.
WARNING! When using the device in combination with a connector ref. FA 20 502 00A, or 2 devices in combination with a connector ref.
FA 20 502 00B, directly connected to the junction of the dorsal straps of the harness, MAKE SURE YOU NEVER WORK IN HORIZONTAL
USE.
WARNING! When using 2 devices connected to the dorsal attachment point of a harness through a connector ref. FA 20 502 00B (or other),
NEVER hook the 2 retractable lanyards at the same level and/or same anchor point.
The device's anchoring point must be positioned above the user and must comply with standard EN795 (R>12kN - EN795:2012 or R>10kN
- EN795:1996).
However, the equipment is also certified for use above the anchoring point (Factor 2). WARNING! In this case, the necessary clearance
is: a minimum of 5 m under the user*.
It is prohibited to use the device with structures with small diameters and corrosion as this can affect the performance of the webbing, unless
these are adequately protected.
The equipment is certified for horizontal use near sharp edges (RfUs PPE-R/11.060). WARNING! In this case, do not combine horizontal
use AND fall factor 2, see the figures below.

* : It is essential for safety reason to verify the clearance at the work place before each use and during use in order to be sure there will be
no collision with the ground or obstacle in case of fall. Take particular attention to obstacle in movement (for example truck, mobile work
platform,.....).
The maximum angle of inclination when used vertically must be: 40 °.
Use the product between: - 30°C / 50°C.
Ensure that the general arrangement limits swinging in the event of a fall, and that the work is done in such a way as to limit the risk and the height of
a fall. For safety reasons and before each use, make sure that in the event of a fall there is no obstacle obstructing the normal deployment of the cable
or the webbing.
We also recommend that you do not suddenly let go of the cable when it is rolled out; it is better to keep a hand on it as it reels into the
retractable fall arrester.
Before and during use, we recommend that you take all the necessary precautions for a safe rescue should it be needed.
This equipment is for the sole use of people trained, skilled and in good health, or under the supervision of a trained and skilled person.
Warning! Certain medical conditions may affect user safety; if in doubt, consult your doctor.
Be aware of the hazards that could reduce the performance of your equipment, and therefore the user's safety, if exposed to extreme
temperatures (< -30°C or > 50°C), prolonged exposure to the elements (UV rays, humidity), chemical agents, electrical constraints, twisting
of the fall arrest system during use, sharp edges, friction or cutting, etc.
Before using, always check that the locking system is in working order and that the fall indicator is not triggered (if there is one on the
