Connecting the cuff

Push the hose onto the connector on the
front of the unit (Fig.1).

Ensure that the blood pressure cuff is at heart
level during blood pressure measurement as
the hydrostatic effect at different levels will
result in measurement inaccuracy.
Check the limb concerned to ensure that there
is no likelihood of prolonged impairment of the
patient's circulation.
Change cuff placement site every 4 to 6 hours.
Avoid cuff placement which could interfere with
infusions.
In the event that you are concerned for the safety of the
patient, disconnecting the connectors on the cuff or tubing
will result in rapid deflation of the cuff.

Connect the
hose to the cuff
via the threaded
connector.
Ensure that
there are no
kinks or compression restrictions in the
tube (Fig.2).
Wrap the cuff around the patients arm.
Check that the white index marker falls
within the white range markers.
If not, use a larger or smaller cuff size.
