Intended purpose
GenuTrain A3 is a medical device. It is a support for
activation and stabilization in the case of complex knee
problems such as osteoarthritis.
GenuTrain A3 must be fitted for the first use by a
trained specialist, otherwise we cannot accept any
liability for the product.
Indications
• Osteoarthritis of the knee and arthritis
• Chronic, post-traumatic and post-operative irritation
• Tendinopathy, ligament insertion degeneration and
tendomyopathy
• Knee pain in cases of functional instability due to
muscular imbalance
• Recurring joint effusion
• Prevention / relapse prevention
• Patellar lateralization
Risks of using this product
Important Information
Please closely observe the specifications in these
instructions for use and the instructions given by the
specialist.
The benefits of this product are felt particularly during
physical activity.
• Please remove the support during longer periods of
rest.
• Once you have been prescribed the GenuTrain A3, only
use it according to your indication and any additional
instructions given by a medical specialist*. Please
consult a specialist or your doctor first if you want to
use it together with other products. Do not modify the
product yourself in any way; otherwise it may not help
as expected or it may be harmful to your health. In
these cases, any warranty or liability claims will be
excluded.
• Avoid contact with ointments, lotions, or substances
containing grease or acids.
• Any aids applied externally to the body may, if tightened
excessively, lead to local pressure points or, in rare
cases, constrict the underlying blood vessels or nerves.
• If you notice any changes or an increase in symptoms
while wearing the product, stop any further use and
contact your doctor.
• If you would like to use your Bauerfeind product due to
acute symptoms / injuries, make sure to obtain and
follow the advice of a medical professional before first
using the product. Restrictions may exist given the
specific indication which the specialist retailer can
clarify. In particular, the ability to operate vehicles,
other means of transport or machinery may be limited.
In case of doubt, we recommend temporarily refraining
from the activities mentioned above.
Caution: When removing the product, there is not
sufficient support / sufficient protection of the body part
requiring treatment. In this case, particularly avoid placing
any strain on this body part.
Contraindications
Hypersensitive reactions harmful to health have not
been reported to date. In the following conditions such
aids should only be fitted and applied after consultation
with your medical provider:
1. Skin disorders / injuries in the relevant part of the
body, particularly if inflammation is present. Likewise,
any raised scars with swelling, redness and excessive
heat build-up.
2. Varicose veins.
3. Impaired sensation in the leg due to neurological ab-
normalities
4. Impaired circulation in the leg (e. g. diabetes mellitus)
5. Impaired lymphatic drainage and soft tissue swelling
of unknown origin
Application instructions
Fitting GenuTrain A3
1. Firmly grip the support at the top of the lateral stays
on both sides (donning aid with thumb guidance)
and pull it over the knee joint until the kneecap is
surrounded by the pad.

can only be used on one side (left or right). The long
side of the pad should be positioned on the inside of
the knee. In case of doubt, the sewn-in label indicates
the correct side.
2. Adjust as required until a snug fit is achieved.
3. The bandage must not be put on using the wrong
donning aid, as this can destroy the silicon coating.
Removing GenuTrain A3
To remove the support, pull down at the bottom of the
support near the stays.

Cleaning instructions
Please use mild detergent and a lingerie bag. Never
expose the product to direct heat / cold. Also observe
the instructions on the sewn-in label on the upper edge
of your product. Regular care guarantees optimum
effectiveness of the product.
If you have any complaints, please contact your medical
retailer only. Please note that only clean goods can be
dealt with.
Notes on reuse
This product is intended to be fitted to one patient only.
Warranty
The statutory regulations of the country of purchase
apply. Please first contact the retailer from whom you
obtained the product directly in the event of a poten-
tial claim under the warranty. The product must be
cleaned before submitting it in case of warranty claims.
Warranty may be limited or excluded if the instructions
on how to handle and care for the GenuTrain A3 have
not been observed.
Warranty is excluded if:
• The product was not used according to the indication
• The instructions given by the specialist were not
observed
• The product was modified arbitrarily
Disclaimer
Do not diagnose yourself or decide on which medication
to take unless you are a medical specialist. Before first
using our medical product, please seek the advice of a
physician or trained specialist, as this is the only way
to assess the effect of our product on your body and
determine the potential risks of using this product due
to your personal constitution. Follow the advice of this
specialist as well as all instructions in this document
or its online version, including any excerpts (as well as
texts, images, graphics etc.).

immediately report any serious incident involving the
use of this medical device to both the manufacturer and
the responsible authority. Our contact details can be
found on the back of this brochure.
Disposal
Once you have finished using the product, please dispose
of it according to local specifications.
