6.5 Replace the pH or conductivity sensor
Do not let the tip of the pH sensor become dry or permanent damage to the probe will occur. To
prepare the pH sensor for storage, add storage solution to the storage cap and install the storage
cap on the sensor. Add additional storage solution to the storage cap at 6 month intervals.
If the sensor calibration fails after the sensor is cleaned, contact the scrubber manufacturer before
the sensor is replaced. Refer to the sensor user manuals for calibration and maintenance
instructions. For the pH sensor, replace the salt bridge when the calibration fails.
Replace the pH or conductivity sensor as follows:
1. Do the steps in
Remove the water from the instrument
2. Put on personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to the contaminants in the sample
water.
3. Remove the top of the sample flow cell. Refer to the illustrated steps in
4. To replace the pH sensor, do the steps that follow:
a. Disconnect the pH sensor cable from the quick-connect fitting on the bottom of the controller.
b. Remove the sensor from the top of the sample flow cell, Turn the sensor, then pull down.
c. Install the new pH sensor. Refer to the pH sensor user manual.
5. To replace the conductivity sensor and digital gateway, do the steps that follow:
a. Disconnect the digital gateway for the conductivity sensor from the quick-connect fitting on the
bottom of the controller. Refer to
b. Remove the digital gateway from the mounting bracket.
c. Disconnect the conductivity sensor cable from the digital gateway. Refer to the inductive
conductivity sensor user manual.
d. Remove the sensor from the top of the sample flow cell, Turn the sensor, then pull down.
e. Install the new conductivity sensor and digital gateway. Refer to the inductive conductivity
sensor user manual.
