Installing and connecting the KERDI-BOARD-
NLT niche set
4.1 Installation requirements
The following basic requirements must be met to ensure that the LED system operates as
intended and that hazards are avoided:
•
A free power socket must be available within range of the mains cable in order to connect
the power supply.
•
For permanent mounting of the LED tubes, the mounting profiles must be fixed in accord-
ance with the state of the art.
•
All cables, plug connections and system components must be kept permanently dry.
•
The cable length in one strand must not exceed 10 m.
•
No more than 6 plug connections may be used within a strand.
•
The Bluetooth receiver must not be shielded by metallic objects (e.g. reinforcements).
•
Never connect 2 Bluetooth receivers in series.
•
LED tubes must never be bent with a bending radius < 500 mm.
•
LED tubes must never be bent laterally over the flanks.
•
The power supply must be of a sufficient size for the connected LED tubes.
•
It must be possible to lay the system components in such a way that no extensions or
connection cables need to be shortened.
•
If the LED system is to be used without a Bluetooth receiver, it must be possible to switch
the power socket on and off.
•
Extensions may only be installed in such a way that they (e.g. at the end of use) can be
removed without any difficulty (reversible installation).
Special features regarding installation in humid rooms
If the LED system is to be installed in the bathroom or in areas with intermittent humid envi-
ronmental conditions, the following requirements must also be met:
•
Any penetration of moisture into components of the LED system must be permanently
prevented.
•
The environment must make intermittent drying possible.
4.2 Planning for installation
Prior to installation, it is necessary to determine where the power supply and the Bluetooth
receiver are to be installed, where the cables are to be laid, and which system components
are to be fitted at which positions.
The following questions must be answered with "yes" to ensure safe and reliable operation:
•
Does the intended power supply cover the power requirements of the LED tubes?
•
Can all LED modules be reached with distributors and extensions?
•
Can sealing collars be installed where moisture can occur and where a connection cable
is to be connected?
