5. Installation and Initial Commissioning

5.1 General

In order to avoid damages to the lifting unit during installa-
tion and operation, the following points must be observed:
The installation work must be performed by qualified
personnel, in compliance with safety regulations.
The lifting unit must be inspected for damage prior
to installation.
Protect the pump from frost.
The power lines of the pump must be laid in such a
way that a safe operation and easy assembly/disas-
sembly is ensured.
A dry run is strictly prohibited.

5.2 Installation

It is up to the operator to prevent consequential dam-
ages, e.g. flooding of rooms during disturbances of
the pump, by means of appropriate measures (e.g.
installation of an alarm system, a reserve pump or
similar).
The lifting unit must be installed in a manner that al-
lows the lid to be opened. Ensure that there is suffi-
cient space between the side inlets and existing
walls.
Please make sure to remove the transport safety
(cardboard inside the container) prior to commis-
sioning.
According to the standard, sewage lifting units,
which are located below the backflow level of the
drainage channel must be connected to the system
via a suitable pipe loop. See installation example!
When operating with a shower, make sure that the
shower drain is at least 140mm above the floor of the
lifting system.

First, open the container and remove the accessories and
the transport safety.
Position the wastewater lifting system horizontally on a
flat floor. To ensure low-noise operation, a minimum dis-
tance of 5 mm between the lifting system and the walls
must be observed.
Feed:
Place the container in position and determine the position
of the desired feeds.
Pressure connection
Put the pressure line to the sewer connection into the
rubber sleeve and fix it with the supplied hose clamp.
Lay the pressure line, steadily rising (ideally first vertically,
then horizontally) in a loop above the level of the backflow
level of the public sewer.
This prevents sewage from being pushed back into the
lifting system's container through the pressure line, in the
event of an increase in the water level in the sewer, e.g.
due to heavy rain. Run the pressure line directly to the
next collecting runoff. Recheck all joints and connections
for tightness.
A freezing of the pressure line must be prevented. It is
advisable to insulate the entire pressure line sufficiently.
Via a modification of the pump in the tank, it is possible
to change the pressure connection from left to right.
Thus, the connection cable of the pump from the right is
swapped to the left.
Vertical (DN40): remove the inlet sleeve of the lid and
pierce the cap 50mm with a hole saw. Refit sleeve
and feed tube through the sleeve, max. 2cm, into the
container.
Horizontal (DN50): All four horizontal feeds have the
same size - DN 50. The two lower inlets are designed
for the connection of a shower. Read this in addition
to the „Accessories float switch for use with a show-
er" below. First, first a 56mm hole saw to drill out
the corresponding feed. Then assemble the supplied
rubber sleeve using a hose clamp. As a final step, put
the lead in the available side of the rubber sleeve and
also fix it with a hose clamp.
