9.2.2 Convection air connection
The appliance is provided with the possibility of guiding convection air. Here, warm convection air (outflow) is led
to a ventilation opening of the chimney breast. For the benefit of inflow of cold convection air, no extra facilities
are required. (See appendix 2, fig. 11)
Select the applicable situation and follow the described steps:
New situation (hollow chimney breast built from non-combustible material):
Option 1:
• Use a hammer to break out the plates of the convection air connection at the top of the appliance.
• Place the rings on the convection openings.
• Slide the heat-resistant flexible hose (Ø 125 mm) over the ring and fasten it with a hose clamp or self-tapping
screw.
• Connect the flexible hose to a ventilation element in the top of the chimney breast (at least 30 cm from the
ceiling).
The required parts are available via your supplier.
Option 2:
• Use a hammer to break out the plates of the two convection air openings at the top of the appliance.
• Place two ventilation elements in the top of the chimney breast (at least 30 cm from the ceiling).
Option 3:
• Do not break out the plates of the convection air connection.
• Place two ventilation elements under the appliance for the supply of air.
• Place two ventilation elements above the fire (at least 30 cm from the ceiling).
This option is not possible in combination with an installation frame.
!Caution
Existing situation or surrounding structure without hollow chimney breast:
• Do not break out the plates of the convection air connection.
• The convection mantle of the fire ensures sufficient convection flow.
