B - 2 - Hoses
France :
The device is used with a flexible hose, that is pushed onto
ribbed end-pieces at the stove and regulator ends, and
secured by collars (standard XP D 36-110).
Device
Hose length should not exceed 1.50 m. It should be replaced
when the expiry date on the hose is passed or whenever it
is damaged or develops surface cracks. Do not pull on the
hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that may
become hot.

Slide the flexible hose onto the ringed tailpiece on both
the barbecue and regulator as far as it will go.

Slide the collars behind the two first bosses on the
tailpieces and tighten them until the tightening head
breaks.
Check that the flexible hose stretches out normally without
twisting or pulling and does not come into contact with the
hot sides of the barbecue. It should be replaced when the
expiry date on the hose is passed or whenever it is damaged
or develops surface cracks.
A gas-tight seal should be checked as described in
Section C).
Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Great Britain,
Ireland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland:
The stove is equipped with a ribbed end-piece for use with a
type of hose suitable for butane and propane.
Hose length should not exceed 1.20 m. It should be replaced
if it is damaged or cracked, when required by national
regulations or at the end of the part lifecycle. Do not pull on
the hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that
may become hot.
A gas-tight seal should be checked as described in
Section C).
Switzerland, Germany, Austria:
The device should be used with a type of hose suitable for
butane and propane.
Hose length should not exceed 1.20 m. It should be replaced
if it is damaged or cracked, when required by national
regulations or at the end of the part lifecycle. Do not pull on
the hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that
may become hot.
Check that the flexible hose stretches out normally, without
twisting or pulling.
Connecting the hose:
To connect the hose to the stove union, tighten the hose nut
firmly, but without excessive force, using the two appropriate
wrenches:

14 mm wrench to tighten the device inlet union
–
17 mm wrench to tighten the hose wrench
Connect the other end onto the regulator outlet union.

Regulator
C - CONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER
If replacing an empty cylinder, read Section E):
"Removing or changing the gas cylinder".
When installing or removing a gas cylinder, always
operate in an open, well-ventilated place, never in the
presence of a flame, spark or any other source of heat
(cigarette, electrical appliance, etc.), and away from
other persons or inflammable materials.

Place the gas cylinder on the ground.
–
Close the tap on the regulator or gas cylinder.
–
Screw or push the regulator onto the cylinder or onto the
valve on the gas cylinder.

Close the valves of the device by turning the control
knobs clockwise, position (

Check that the flexible hose or hose is in place normally,
with no torsion or traction.
Gas leaks
Do not check for leaks using a flame. Use a gas leak
detecting liquid.

Apply gas leak detecting liquid to the cylinder/regulator/
hose/device unions.

The adjustment control knobs should remain as
set (
).
–
Open the gas supply (valve or lever on the regulator).
–
Any gas leaks will be indicated by bubbles.
–
Stop the leak by tightening the nuts. Replace any
defective parts. The device must not be used until all
leaks have been eliminated.
–
Close the valve on the gas cylinder.
Important:
An overall inspection and leaks check must be carried out
at least annually and always after changing the gas cylinder.
