Lifting the client

1.
Position the lift with the correct hanger bar
close to the client.
2.
Check whether the client is in a safe
position.
3.
Lower the boom and hanger bar using the
hand control to a position where it does
not touch the client but it is possible to at-
tach the loops or safety clips to the hanger
bar without having to use physical force.
4.
Attach the loops or safety clips of the sling
to the hanger bar. Attach the loops or clips
for the shoulders first, followed by the legs.
5.
Carefully check each of the attachments.
Using the hand control, raise the boom/
hanger bar until there is some tension in
the sling but do not start lifting the client
yet. Check the attachments again.
6. Ensure the brakes are not engaged
when lifting the client. The lift should
be able to move to its centre of
gravity.
Note: Brakes should be locked when
lifting a client from the floor.
7.
Lift the client by pressing the up button on
the hand control. When using the 2-point
strap loop hanger bar, the client remains in
the same position. When using the 4-point
hanger bar, the client can be moved into
the preferred position: a recumbent,
semi-recumbent and sitting position.
