reassembling of cutting means

PROBLEM

Only cutting means bearing the code indicated
in the table on page ii must be used on this ma-
chine.
Given product evolution, the above mentioned
cutting means may be replaced in time with oth-
ers having similar interchangeable and operat-
ing safety features.
LIKELY CAUSE
Electronic circuit board blocked
due to:
– flat battery
– fuse blown
– bad earthing to the engine or the
frame
– earth connections of the
microswitches disconnected
– badly earthed starter motor
– starting conditions have not
been met
– faulty fuel supply
– faulty ignition
Electronic circuit board blocked
due to:
– earth connections of the
microswitches disconnected
– flat battery
– b adly connected battery (poor
contact)
– engine badly earthed
– fault in carburetion
– f orward speed too high in relation
to cutting height
– t he movement of the lever used
to engage the cutting means is
too brusque
– y ou are not ready to engage the
cutting means

SOLUTION
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
position and look for the cause of
the problem:
– recharge the battery (see 6.2.3)
– replace the fuse (10 A) (see 6.3.4)
– c heck connections of black earth
leads
– check connections
– check earth connections
– c heck that the conditions
allowing the start are met
(see 5.2.a)
– c heck the level in the tank
(see 5.3.3)
– check the fuel filter
– c heck that spark plug cap is
securely fitted
– c heck that the electrodes are
clean and have the correct gap
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
position and look for the cause of
the problem:
– check connections
– recharge the battery (see 6.2.3)
– check connections (see 3.5)
– check engine earth connection
– clean or replace the air filter
– flush out the float chamber
– e mpty the fuel tank and refill with
fresh fuel
– c heck and replace the fuel filter if
necessary
– r educe the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting height (see 4.4)
– do it more slowly
– c heck that the safety
requirements are met (see 5.2.b)
