IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The safety of electrical appliances from FIRST
Austria complies with the recognized technical
directives and legal regulations for safety.
Nevertheless, you and the other users of the
appliance should observe the following:
• Please read these instructions carefully before
using this appliance for the first time and keep
them for further reference.
• This product has not been designed for any
other uses than those specified in this manual.
• Before connecting the appliance to the power
source, check if the voltage indicated on the
appliance corresponds with the mains voltage
in your home. If this is not the case, contact your
dealer and do not use the appliance.
• If the appliance is grounded (protection class I),
the wall outlet and any extension to which it is
connected must also be grounded.
• Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a
table or counter. Do not let the cord touch hot
surfaces.
• Do not operate or place any part of this
appliance on or near any hot surface (such as
gas or electric burner or a heated oven).
• If the appliance or the power cord shows any
signs of damage, do not operate it! Take the
product to an authorized and qualified service
center for inspection or repair.
• To protect from electrical hazard, do not
immerse this appliance or cordset in any liquids.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors.
• Always disconnect the appliance from power
after use, before cleaning and in the event of a
malfunction.
• Do not pull directly on the power cord, rather
pull on the plug to disconnect the appliance
from the power source.
• The appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of
children less than 8 years.
• We are excluded of liability for all damages that
may arise if the appliance is used for purposes
other than originally intended or if it is used
inappropriately.
• Repairs and other work undertaken on the unit
must only be done by authorised specialist
personnel!

BASIC YOGURT RECIPE
(Fig. B)
1. Ensure that the jars are sterilized, and the
ingredients are fresh and not expired.
2. Pour 1 liter of milk/soya milk into a pot and heat
it up to at least 90°C for sterilization. (This step is
not necessary if you are already using sterilized
milk - e.g. UHT milk)
3. Pour the hot milk evenly into each jar and let it
cool down below 40°C.
4. Then add about 5 g of natural yogurt/soya
yogurt, which contains live, active yogurt
cultures, to each jar, or alternatively, mix
yogurt starter powder into each jar - read the
description on the yogurt starter package to
determine the correct amount.
TIPS:
• The more fat the milk contains, the thicker the
end product will be.
• To shorten the fermentation time and ensure
more even heat transfer, you can fill the
fermentation container with warm water, up to
a maximum of half its height.
OPERATION
1. Seal the jars with the lids, place them in the
machine, and close the top cover.
2. Connect the mains plug of the appliance to
a power outlet; a short beep sounds and "- -"
appears on the display.
3. Press the [Set/View] button. The Temp light
flashes green and you can set the temperature
using the [+]/[-] buttons. The default setting is
42°C.
4. Then press the [Start/Cancel] button to confirm
the temperature. At this point, the Temp light
turns red and the Time light flashes green. You
can now set the time using the [+]/[-] buttons.
The default setting is 8 hours.

5. Press the [Start/Cancel] button to confirm and
start the fermentation process. Both lights
(Temp and Time) light up red at this point and
no further setting is possible. The display will
show the remaining fermentation time and the
yogurt maker starts working.
Note: If you need to reset the temperature or time,
you can press and hold the [Start/Cancel] button
for 3 seconds. Then repeat steps 2-4.

If this is not the case, the appliance may be faulty.
