9.3.2 Replacing the rear wheels
1. Check that the closed jack is of a suitable
height for the distance of the application point
in relation to the ground.
2. Check that the jack is perfectly perpendicular
to the ground.
3. Engage the transmission so that the rear
wheels are locked (par. 6.3.1);
4. Place wooden wedges (fig. 23.A) in front of
and behind the two front wheels (fig. 23.B),
so as to prevent any accidental movement
of the machine when both rear wheels
(fig. 23.C) lift off the ground;
5. Position the jack (fig. 24.A) in the centre of
the two tie rods (fig. 24.B) connecting the
transmission units (fig. 24.C), inserting a
wooden shim (fig. 24.D) to avoid damaging
the tie rods and to ensure good stability at the
lifting point;
NOTE
The jack positioned as described above causes
both wheels to lift.
6. Use the jack to lift the machine enough to
easily extract the wheel to be replaced.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Make certain the machine remains still and stable
during the lifting process. If you notice
anything out of the ordinary, lower the jack
immediately, check and resolve any problems
and lift the machine again.
7. Remove the cover (fig. 25.A).
8. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap
ring (fig. 25.B) and the shoulder washer
(fig. 25.C).
9. Remove the wheel to be changed.
10. Coat the axle (fig. 25.D) with grease.
11. Mount the spare wheel.
12. Carefully replace the shoulder washer, snap
ring and the cover.
NOTE
Check that the rear wheels are of the same
diameter and both inflated to the specified
pressure (fig. 26.A). If there is any misalignment
of the wheels (fig. 26.B) and uneven mowing, the
cutting-means assembly must be aligned by an
authorised service centre.
9.3.3 Replacing the front wheels (only for
models type "I" and "II")
1. Engage the transmission so that the rear
wheels are locked (par. 6.3.1), in order to
prevent any accidental movement of the
machine;
2. Place a wooden shim approximately 2-3 cm
thick (fig. 27.A) under the front wheel
opposite (fig. 27.B) to the wheel to be
replaced, so that the wheel to be replaced
(fig. 27.C) also rises far enough so that it can
be easily removed.
3. Unscrew the nut (fig. 28.B) holding the screw
still (fig. 28.A).
4. Remove the screw (fig. 28.A) and washers
(fig. 28.C) and remove the wheel (fig. 28.D).
5. Mount the spare wheel.
6. Replace the screw and washers and tighten
the nut firmly in place (fig. 28.B).
9.3.4 Replacing the front wheels (only for
model type "III")
1. Engage the transmission so that the rear
wheels are locked (par. 6.3.1), in order to
prevent any accidental movement of the
machine;
2. Place a wooden shim approximately 2-3 cm
thick (fig. 27.A) under the front wheel
opposite (fig. 27.B) to the wheel to be
replaced, so that the wheel to be replaced
(fig. 27.C) also rises far enough so that it can
be easily removed.
3. Unscrew the screw (fig. 28.F) at side M of
fork and then the screw (fig. 28.I) at side L of
fork
4. Slide out the spacer (fig. 28.G) and remove
the wheel (fig. 28.H).
5. Mount the spare wheel.
6. Insert the spacer (fig. 28.G) paying attention
to the correct direction. Insert the screw (fig.
28.I) at side L of fork, then the screw (fig.
28.F) at side M of fork. Fully tighten the 2
screws.
9.3.5 Repairing or changing tyres
The tyres are "Tubeless" and must be replaced
or repaired if punctured by a specialized tyre
repairer following the procedures required for this
kind of tyre.
10. STORING
When you intend to put your machine away for
more than 30 days:
1. Remove the ignition key.
