c) Setting the Shock Absorbers
Front axle
The spring-pre-tension at the upper end of the shock absorber can be adjusted by inserting plastics clips.
The shock absorbers at the vehicle's front and rear vehicle axles can be mounted in different positions lower transver-
se link (C) and at the top of the damper bridge (B). The manufacturer has, however, already chosen the best position;
therefore, only professional drivers should change these.
Always set the shock absorbers for one axle evenly (at the left and right wheels of the front or rear axle). Otherwise,
driving behaviour will be influenced negatively.
Professional drivers may also use springs with a different stiffness or damper oil of a different viscosity for filling the
shock absorbers. Installation of shock absorbers that can be adjusted with a knurled wheel is possible as well.
Just as with a „real" car, the shock absorbers (or the rubber seals in them) on the model car are a wearing part. If oil
is running from the shock absorbers (e.g. transverse link strongly oiled, dripping traces), the seals or shock absorbers
must be replaced.
d) Wheel Change
The tyres are glued to the wheel rim to prevent them from coming loose. When the tyre is worn down, the entire wheel
has to be replaced therefore.
The wheels are available pre-assembled, i.e. tyres glued to wheel rims, as spare parts.
If you want to purchase the wheel rims and tyres separately, you still have to glue the tyres to the wheel rims.
A tyre not or improperly glued on may loosen while driving (e.g. in fast curves) or the tyre may turn on the
wheel rim.
To screw off or attach the wheel nut, a socket wrench (size 17) or another tool suitable for it is required.
