d) Inserting the Drive Battery into the Vehicle
Attention!
The drive battery must not be connected to the speed controller yet. First switch on the transmitter, see
chapter 9. b) and c).
Important!
This vehicle is suitable only for use with a LiPo drive battery with 4 cells (nominal voltage of drive battery
14,8 V) or NiMH drive battery with 12 cells (nominal voltage 14,4 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed controller.
Apart from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential). Loss of gua-
rantee/warranty!
The battery holder comprises of two plastic angles with
one hook-and-loop tape each.
To insert the drive battery, loosen the hook-and-loop-tape
first. Insert the drive battery into the chassis battery hol-
der.
If the drive battery is too short or too long for the battery
holder, you can set the front plastic angles accordingly.
The two screws that fasten the plastic angle can be loo-
sened from the bottom of the chassis.
Tighten the hook-and-loop tapes to secure the drive bat-
tery.
e) Connecting the Drive Battery to the Speed Controller
First switch off the speed controller. The on/off switch is at
the bottom of the chassis, right next to the battery holder,
see figure on the right.
To switch it off (switch position „OFF"), move the slider
towards the front of the vehicle.
Then switch on the transmitter if you haven't done so yet
(see chapter 9. b) and c).
To prevent sudden start-up of the wheels and therefore uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the trim-
ming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable support (or starting box), so that the
wheels can turn freely in case of an error.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Now connect the drive battery to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable = mi-
nus/-). Do not apply any force when connecting the battery plug to the connection of the speed controller.
Make sure that the cables do not get into the drive of the vehicle or the steering mechanics. Use cable binders for
fastening if required.
