4. Installation mechanical
Place your caravan or trailer on a level surface.
Preferably a lifting ramp or an assembly pit. If you
use a car-jack, please make sure that the caravan
or trailer is secured with adequate supporting
blocks.
Working under the vehicle without
support and security measures can
cause danger to your life!
Take all parts out of the packing and arrange
them on the floor in front of you.

Determine the ideal position in front of and be-
hind the axle. When doing this, please note the
following:
- the distance between the lower edges of the
chassis and the floor (min. 50 mm !)
- Frame bottom line and ground
(recommended ground clearance min. 120 mm)
- additional parts fixed on the trailer, such as
waste-water pipes, spare wheel, etc.

First, fasten the left or right drive unit on the chas-
sis using two brackets and one curved mounting
plate and one upper clamping profile (fig. 4.4).
Position the curved mounting plate underneath
the chassis frame in a way that the frame is
clamped between mounting plate and upper
clamping profile. Tighten the bolts by hand.
Position the mounting frame on the chassis as
shown in fig. 4.1. The distance between the cen-
ter of the mounting frame and the wheel should
be approx. 200 mm.
Attention: Make sure the mounting frame's short
lateral protrusion is pointing towards the wheel!

ATTENTION!
The length of the stabilizer bar has to be adjusted
to the vehicle in accordance with the mounting
dimensions given under pic. 8.1 and 9.1.
If the stabilizer bar does not enter in the square
axle of the drive unit for at least 300 mm, you
must use a (optional available) longer stabilizer
bar. Otherwise the optimal function cannot be
guaranteed.
If the enclosed stabilizer bar is too long, it must be
shortened correspondingly.
Determine the exact centre of the stabilizer and
mark it.
Insert the stabilizer bar into the rectangular tube
of the mounting frame being already installed.
Place the other mounting frame above the other
end of the stabilizer rod and fasten also the
mounting frame to the vehicle chassis using the
clamping plates. Only tighten the screws finger-
tight.
Align the stabilizer bar centrically and tighten its
clamping bolts finger-tight.

Ensure that the short lateral projection of the
mounting frame is directed towards the tyre (fig.
4.1).
Fasten the drive units at the mounting frame us-
ing the self-locking bolts M10x14 mm (60 Nm)
and use the washers.
The self-locking bolts can be
recognized by the red marked
thread!
ATTENTION! Bolts M10x14 mm (red thread) may be
used only once. When rebolting the assembly exclusive-
ly use new original bolts M10x14 mm (red thread;
REICH part no. 227-1550). You may also use compa-
rable bolts M10x14 mm (minimum strength category 8.8)
with WEICON AN 302-72 thread lock or an equivalent
product instead.
