of wear or damage, remove it from service immediately. Always replace your helmet after impact or
penetration occurs. Failure to obey these warnings can result in serious injury or death.
Examine the shell for breakage, cracks, craze pattern, discoloration, chalky appearance, or any other
unusual condition. If the shell shows any of these conditions, remove the helmet from service immedi-

damaged stitching. If the suspension shows any of these conditions, replace it immediately.
Examine the chin strap for missing, cut, frayed, or broken stitching. Examine the hardware on the chin
strap for breakage, cracks, discoloration, or any other unusual condition. If the chin strap or hardware
shows any of these conditions, replace the chin strap immediately. Examine the rescue whistle for
blockage or damage. Blow the whistle to make sure it operates correctly. If the rescue whistle is
damaged or broken, replace the chin strap. Make sure that a foam liner is attached to the shell.
