4.3.1 Configure the other 4-20 mA output settings
Configure the other SC1000 Controller settings for the 4-20 mA output as necessary (e.g., SCALE
0mA/4mA, SET HIGH VALUE and SET LOW VALUE).
1. Select SC1000 SETUP > OUTPUT SETUP.
2. Select the output card (e.g., mA OUTPUT INT).
3. Select the 4-20 mA output (e.g., OUTPUT 1).
4. Configure the 4-20 mA output settings. Refer to the Output setup menu section of the
SC1000 Controller User Manual for setting descriptions.
Note: Do not change the SELECT SOURCE setting, which is the name of the turbidity compensation formula
for PAH.
4.4 Adjust PAH for turbidity with Profibus (optional)
If the SC1000 Controller has the optional 4-20 mA output card and the optional Profibus module
installed and a turbidimeter is connected to the SC1000 Controller, the turbidity compensated PAH
reading is available from the Profibus output when the steps that follow are done.
1. Do the steps
Adjust PAH for turbidity with 4-20 mA output (optional)
2. Select SC1000 SETUP > NETWORK MODULES > PROFIBUS-DP > TELEGRAM > INPUT
VALUE > INPUT VALUE 1.
4.5 Do a calibration verification
Periodically, measure a calibration standard to identify if the sensor is still calibrated as follows:
1. Clean the sensor. Refer to
2. Put the supplied valve in the fitting on the bottom of the sensor. Make sure that the valve is
closed.
3. Rinse the sensor with deionized water as follows:
a. Fill the sensor with deionized water.
b. Open the valve to discard the deionized water from the sensor, then close the valve again.
4. Measure the phenanthrene equivalent standard as follows:
a. Put the contents of the ampule into the empty vial. Touch the top edge of the ampule to the
top edge of the vial to pull the liquid into the vial.
Clean the sensor
