7. Working with macsRemote
NOTICE
Software actualizations will take place as soon as macsRemote is connected to the Internet.
If a software actualization is is progress the orange function LED will flash for approx. 30 seconds during the
process.
7.1. Initial Start-Up and Network Connection
Proceed as follows to be able to use the macsRemote:
1. Make sure that the VCI cable is connected to macsRemote.
Possibly use a 10-Torx screwdriver (not included in the delivery contents) for that.
2. Connect macsRemote with Wi-Fi. For this connect the VCI plug of the macsRemote with the diagnostic connector of
the vehicle and proceed as follows:
CAUTION!
Short circuit and voltage peaks when connecting the VCI
Danger of destruction of automotive electronics
Switch off ignition before connecting the VCI to the vehicle.
NOTICE
Switch on the vehicle ignition after having connected the VCI to the vehicle. Communication is impossible
without ignition switched on.
NOTICE
After having connected the VCI the orange function LED lights up permanently after a few seconds. This indi-
cates that the macsRemote hardware is ready for operation.
The macsRemote Wi-Fi module is online if the green function LED top right flashes as well. Now you can es-
tablish a network connection.
3. Go to Wi-Fi settings of the PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, search for the Wi-Fi "connectorxxxx" and establish the
connection.
4. Use the browser of the PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone to open connector.help and connect the macsRemote to the
requested network.
