11. Menus
Depending on the operating mode selected, the Dashboard Camera shows a specific menu to customise
the operating mode functions. There is also a general setup menu allowing you to set the preferences for
your camera.
You can open the menu for the recording function and for the playback function as well as the Dashboard
Camera setup menu to adjust general or operating mode-specific parameters.
The available functions are described in the sections below.
11.1 Video recording menu
The video recording menu allows you to set the different video recording parameters. To open the video
recording menu:
1. Power the Dashboard Camera on by pressing the On/Off button (8). Or, if you have connected the
car charger or an optional USB power adapter, the Dashboard Camera will switch on automatically
as soon as it receives power.
2. Press the OK button (5) to stop recording.
3. Press the Menu button (3) to display the menu associated with video recording.
4. Make the desired adjustments. To do this, use the Up (2) and Down (4) buttons to select the desired
option and confirm by pressing the OK button (5). Next you can use the Up (2) and Down (4) buttons
to select the desired value and confirm by pressing the OK button (5).
5. Press the Menu button (3) again to hide the menu.
The following sections contain a description of the different parameters available in the video recording
menu.
Resolution
The resolution determines the size of the recording in pixels. As a general rule: the higher the resolution,
the more storage space is required.
Your Dashboard Camera supports recording in modern wide-screen format. However, not all of the
resolutions available offer a 16:9 aspect ratio. With the VGA setting, the aspect ratio is 4:3.
