11.1.1 Machine adjustment for planing/cutting (fig. 7)
To adjust the machine for planing it is necessary to unscrew the thumbscrew 16 that fixes
the belt 15 protective casing and turn it aside. Pull the handle 23 up and set it to groove
B to release belt tension. Then set the belt on cutter block pulley (for sawing – on saw
spindle). Lower the handle 23 and mount the belt 15 casing back.
11.1.2 Planing depth setting (fig. 1)
To set planning depth, by turning the handle 8, move loading table 1 to the required
planing depth (0÷3 mm) using the scale located on the table.
To secure loading table 1 in the required position, use the nut located on the handle 8.
11.1.3 Mounting of guarding (fig. 1)
Cutter block 2 guard is designed for protection the rotating cutter block. It is moved in
holding-down clip 22 and fixed by thumbscrew 16.
If planning width is less than 100 mm, the guard 2 should protect the non-working part of
rotating cutter block.
After operation or during working breaks the guard 2 should entirely cover the cutter
block.
11.1.4 Fence mounting and adjustment (fig. 1)
Fence 7 designed for positioning of a processed blank against the cutter block and for
provision of its straight motion and performing planing at an angle to blank arris.
Fence 7 is secured with four thumbscrews 16 and pressed to lower part of the machine saw
table. It can be mounted vertical to the table or at an angle to it.
To mount the fence at an angle, loosen the two thumbscrews 16, set the fence at the
required angle using scale 18 and tighten the thumbscrews.
The fence should be pressed to the saw table at any angle.
Scale 18 is adjustable. To perform adjustment, set the fence 7 at 90° using a square, loosen
the screws 19, set "0" position according to the pointer and tighten the screws. Perform the
same operation over the scale on the opposite side.
11.1.5 Clamping device usage (fig. 2)
Clamping device 24 is designed for safe processing of blanks not less than 60 mm thick.
The device is supplied disassembled. Assembly of the device is performed according to
its manual.
11.2 Cutting along/across fibers and at an angle
Before operation the machine should be prepared and adjusted.
Set the loading table 1 at the same level as saw table 3 (fig. 1).
Preparation and adjustment includes:
• machine adjustment for sawing (par. 11.1.1);
• circular saw blade mounting;
• mounting and positioning of riving knife;
• mounting and positioning of circular saw blade insert;
• mounting of riving knife casing;
• fence mounting.
