7.1 Workplace requirements
Workplace should be arranged considering the location of blanks and manufactured products,
direction of their moving and waste collection place.
• there should be at least 1-meter clear area around the perimeter of machine's work tables
for maintenance performing. It's necessary to provide clear working space for blanks
supply and takeaway considering their weight and dimensions;
• floor should not be slippery and should have no obstacles;
• the machine and workplace should be kept clean;
• workplace should be well illuminated by natural or artificial light sources; please note that
the usage of fluorescent lighting causes a stroboscopic effect which may lead to incorrect
determination of rotation direction of machine's moving parts;
• it's necessary to provide continuous air change in working rooms by airing or ventilation;
• do not work in rooms with explosive or chemically active areas;
• fire prevention regulations should be followed; it's necessary to have fire-extinguisher
available.
7.2 Added safety precautions
• keep children or other unauthorized persons away from working area;
• during machine operation, keep steady stance and do not try to take objects out of reach;
• during operation avoid contact with grounded devices (e.g. pipelines, electric stoves,
fridges etc.);
• do not stand across the working plane of circular saw blade; keep to the left or to the
right from it;
• be attentive, watch your actions and discontinue operation when you are tired;
• do not use damaged saw blades and knives;
• use only blades, knives and equipment recommended by the manufacturer;
• please note that the type of saw blade depends on the material being processed;
• use riving knife and adjust it correctly;
• use upper guard (casing) of saw blade and adjust its position correctly;
• avoid machine overloads;
• do not try to process blanks that are too short and thin;
• replace the plastic insert of saw blade when it gets worn out.
7.3 Operational hazards
Even if the machine is operated correctly, there may arise the following hazards:
• injury danger by a blank flown from operation point;
• injury danger by debris flown from a broken blank;
• noise and dust hazard;
• electric shock hazard in case of incorrect hardwiring.
To reduce noise exposure from running machine, you must use hearing protection equipment
(earplugs). To protect respiratory tract, use face shield.
Overall duration of presence in operation area with no hearing protection equipment should
not exceed 4.8 hours.
Provide safe storage of the machine. Keep it in dry place inaccessible to children.
In case of malfunction, the machine should be repaired by qualified personnel with the usage
of original spare parts.
7.4 Requirements to blanks
Weight of a processed blank should not exceed 50 kg.
When processing blanks longer than 2 m, it's necessary to use supports placed under the
overhanging end of a blank or to operate in tandem. Minimal height of a blank when planing
or sawing – 5 mm.
