10. PRESTARTING PROCEDURES
Fail-free machine operation largely depends on correct maintenance and timely malfunctions
elimination.
When preparing for operation it's necessary to perform:
• unpacking;
• assembly;
• installation;
• startup.
10.1 Machine unpacking, assembly and installation
Remove the machine and SPTA from packaging.
Prepare flat and steady horizontal surface free from foreign objects and place the machine
on it. It is recommended to attach the machine to workbench by means of bolted connection.
Check the integrity of base parts, reliability of fasteners, tightening of all the bolts, screws and
nuts, absence of power cord and plug damage, presence of protective guards.
Mount all the necessary protective guards on the machine.
The recommended height of working tables over the floor level is 850÷950 mm.
Check the correctness of planer knives adjustment (par. 12.1).

10.2 Machine startup
The machine is engaged by means of switch 9 (fig. 1) after preparation and adjustment for a
required processing type.
To start the machine, perform the following:
• plug the machine into power line;
• loosen and open the switch cover and press the green button.
To stop the machine, perform the following:
• press the red button;
• or close the switch cover.
Starting time of the machine does not exceed 5 seconds. If the machine fails to start, switch it
OFF. In case of start failure perform the starting procedure again in at least 1 minute.
After operation or during working breaks switch cover should be closed.
11. MAIN OPERATIONS
11.1 Surface, edge or angle (arris) planing
Before starting the operation, prepare and adjust the machine:
• adjust the machine for planing;
• set the planing depth;
• mount the guard;
• mount and adjust the fence.
