Basics
If the required expert knowledge is not available, it has to be
obtained from others (e. g. specialists, test institutions or
manufacturers).
1. If applicable, install modules on the master station in
accordance with the assembly instructions (X-dock 6300/
6600 only).
Depending on the module type, a maximum of
10 modules can be installed on one master.
The available modules can be combined in any way
desired.
2. If applicable, install wall mount or cylinder holder in
accordance with the assembly instructions.
3. Remove the grommets from the designated gas inlets.
4. Fit the gas feed hoses to the gas inlets on the master and
connect them to the regulator valve on the test gas
cylinder.
NOTICE
i
i
For the gas exposure sequence Dräger recommends
using toxic gases with increasing concentrations.
Dräger recommends not to exceed a hose length of
10 m for the gas supply hoses. If the hose is longer
than 2 m, the setting must be selected when
configuring the test gas inlet (see Chapter 4.6.1 on
Page 22).
5. If required, connect an exhaust hose (max. 10 m long) to
the exhaust outlet to discharge the test gas into an exhaust
or into the open air.
6. Ensure a supply of compressed air or fresh air:
Connect the compressed air hose to the compressed
air port (outlet pressure of pressure regulator valve
0.5 bar, flow rate >3 L/min).
Adjust fresh air input (see Chapter 4.6.2 on Page 23).
Setting: Supplied by compressed air input
OR
If required, connect the fresh air hose to the fresh air
filter.
Adjust fresh air input if necessary (see Chapter 4.6.2 on
Page 23). Setting: Supplied by pump.
WARNING
!
Risk of personal injury!
Impurities of the ambient air may result in faulty
measurements.
If you use the internal pump to supply fresh air through
the fresh air inlet you need to ensure that the ambient
air is devoid of interfering substances.
NOTICE
i
i
If the maintenance station is supplied with fresh air via
a compressed air cylinder, all modules should always
be equipped with gas detectors prior to starting a test.
Otherwise, the compressed air cylinder will empty
exceptionally quickly.
7. Connect the power pack.
Station with up to 3 modules: Power pack 24 V / 1.33 A
Station with 4 to 10 modules: Power pack 24 V / 6.25 A
The entire system is supplied with power via the master.

NOTICE

Dräger recommends the use of Dräger test gas
cylinders and Dräger pressure regulator valves (see
Chapter 9 on Page 30).
3.1
Special requirements for the
maintenance of devices with PID sensors
When using an X-am 8x00 with PID in the maintenance
station, the Dräger CC-Vision PC software must be used to set
isobutylene as the test and calibration gas for the PID in the
X-am 8x00. Otherwise, an error message will appear.
Connect the test gas cylinder with isobutylene to the first
available test gas inlet to ensure that the test gas has the
highest possible quality when reaching the gas detector.
To improve the quality of the PID calibration, and to avoid that
the sensor is unnecessarily influenced by other test gases,
Dräger recommends selecting the "Purge" test option to purge
the module with fresh air after performance of a test.
Dräger does not recommend storing the X-am 8x00 with PID
in the module with the cover closed for an extended period of
time in order to avoid a drifting of the PID.

i
If no action has occurred for 10 minutes, any user
logged in will be logged off automatically. After
45 minutes, the screensaver will be activated.
To switch the station on:
Press and hold the
1 second.
The following information is displayed during the switch-on
process:
Software version number
To switch the station off:
Press and hold the
3 seconds.
The station switches off.
Standby mode:
Standby mode is activated after approx. 10 minutes with no
activity on the station (input via touchscreen or opening/
closing of a module cover).
When the station switches over to standby mode, any user
logged in will be logged off automatically. The user will
need to log back in again when switching back to operating
mode.
The touchscreen is switched off in standby mode.
The charging function of the X-am 125+ and X-am 8000+
modules with charging function is not affected by standby
mode. The charging process is not interrupted.
